Black Desert Online

Is it me or is half the conversation with NPCs gibberish? Even that black smoke fella. I am kind of justifying reading some guides rather than trying to work it all out on the basis that the explanations most of the time dont make any sense.

I wanted to try so hard to read it all, but honestly, I hit 'R' as fast as possible and select my reward if need be. I've not a clue what's going on in the world.
 
I'm finding it to be really quite grindy at the moment and i'm only level 36. It probably wouldn't be so bad if the game wasn't busy but having to compete for every single mob in the decent areas makes it drag out quite badly.
 
It's not a sub game it's buy to play, so ~£22 for the cheapest one to buy it and no monthly fee. If you have a guest pass and redeemed it then you should have had the download link on the account page.

If you really want to level up at a decent rate then it's all grind. The game is based around the grind.

This is why u rushed to 50 in the first week as I knew it would be a ball ache doing it a few weeks on due to all zones being rammed. Not many had got there when I was doing the higher level stuff.

Now I can really start to enjoy doing other things before later down the line grinding to 56.

Where do I redeem the pass I was given? Am I wasting my time downloading it via the link I was given a few posts back?

I didn't have the game in early access, i just started on Thursday with the normal launch so didn't get to skip the rush. I tried to pre-order a few days before the head start but they took it down that morning so i couldn't.

It's just annoying that the only way to level is to try and kill the odd mobs here and there while 20 other people are running beside you doing the same thing lol. I've resorted to staying away from the good grinding spots and going with the crap ones as it's quicker.

I could be editing my posts all night at this rate! I googled the answer because I didn't think about clicking shop when I logged in. I clicked shop before while waiting for email verification but it went to the buying in game money page.

So I have redeemed the code now and it gave me the same installer. Looks to be tied to login rather than installer so I haven't wasted 2 hrs :)
 
Anyone running the game at 1440p with a 970 or 390? My 7850 isn't cutting it any more but i'm also toying with the idea of a new 1440p monitor. I don't want to buy a new GPU and new monitor only to end up back down at 30-40fps like i am now (mix of med+high).

I'm on a 390 and 1440p....well, I do have crossfire 390's but only using 1 as Crossfire doesn't seem to be working on BDO. I use high settings, and get between 60 and 90fps in the wild, but in towns dips down to the 30fps mark due to amount that's going on in the towns.

Would love to check this out if any of you lads have a spare guest pass you could swing my way. I've got a week off work recovering from an op so I'm keen to dig in and check it out!
