Got a really dumb question, I installed and played it last night and it worked fine, I now can't see any way to start the game (it started from the installer last night)

I have to agree with this. What stunned me more than anything is how good the graphics look, the polish that this mod team have put into this game has to put some proper development teams to utter shame.

I have to say that the voice acting is a little poor, but it somehow 'fits' with the whole persona of the game if you catch my drift.

Save that to say, desktop, edit it in notepad to change the location of your Black Mesa icon file, then try running it!

It's not HL: Black Mesa
It's just: "Black Mesa"

This is probably a stupid question but why cannot this be downloaded through steam? Why all the fuss with torrents and SDK's?

It's not made by Valve.

They are going to add it to Steam, it's just been Greenlight voted, the Steam install will become the patching mechanism for it



The SDK is through Steam, it's required to play it since it uses the HL2.exe, all game mods work like this.

Torrents are a great way to distribute something like this. It's a no cost option for the makers of the game.
