Black Mesa Source

Although I am unsure if we will see any results by the end of 2009, I do believe the mod will be released eventually. In an interview earlier this year the lead project coordinator stated that the first half of the game is completly playable; what constitutes the first half the game is open to interpretation, could be anything pre-zen, who knows?

I don't think valve will buy the team or the game. Also stated in the interview, there has been over 120 people working on the game, nearly as many people as valve currently employ. Also the game isn't exactly oringinal, it's not like valve will be getting another CS, TF, L4D or portal.

Last 10% of building a mod takes as long as the first 90% in my experience, I expect it's the same for them and being their project is so big; that's some time! I think around early/mid (March-June) next year we'll see a release in my very rough guesstimations :D.

Oh, no doubt it will be massively popular when it eventually gets here, but its just taken so long its completely missed the wow factor it would have had. I remember going "wow, awesome!" when I first saw the re rendered Dam image. Now it just looks dated.

Also quite insulting that it won lots of 'best upcomming mod' awards from years back, yet still inst here.

Great now thats ruined my christmas, might as well go into hibernation for another 12 months now and hope that they get themselves together and finnish the damn game.

Ruined your Christmas because an unpaid mod team based on people working from around the world on a mod didn't get to release it before the year was up?
