Black Mesa Source

because of the new Physics you don't know if you should be "stacking boxes" etc to be climbing over things !

Think this will be a little more than 8-10 hours gameplay ;)

Just played a good hour of this and I've gotta say it's an absolutely brilliant mod! I can't believe we've got all this for free! Loving all the subtle changes they've made too, makes HL1 feel like a completely new game. Loving it

Got it installed on my PC and the womans. :D

Any idea how it'l perform on a 460gtx 1gb? Processor is a core2duo dual core (IIRC). Been playing Ep1 on it maxed out okay but I guess Black Mesa might give more trouble? I don't want to leave my girl to start it then it work badly.. I've been too scared to start the game to test the performance because I don't want to spoil it!! I don't know why, but it feels odd now Black Mesa is here, i'm almost too scared to start it! Waiting for the perfect time!

Good to see everyones found the Chuckle mugs. :D

If you're having trouble installing the game or getting it to appear in your games library, check that it has installed into the correct path:

<root>\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\BMS

The installer will do this automatically but if you installed just by extracting the 7z archive manually you'll need to recheck the directory path.

Then after that Steam needs to be restarted manually by closing it and running it again to refresh the list.

The Torrent turned out to be pretty good in the end. I managed to download it in around 3 hours.

If you quit out of the game and relaunch it at the beginning of each major chapter, you get a different menu background - a nice touch!
