Blackberry 9900/9930

Have you had many BB's, what makes you prefer them to the iPhone for example (out of interest)? :)

Yeah, i've owned the iphone 4 for a while. I liked it but I love the blackberry because of it's messaging system. It's hard to explain, when i used the iphone I just missed the BB.

Plus, i love qwerty keyboards... try typing a long email on a touchscreen, it's just not as fluid.

Also... BBM!! it's given my years of entertainment with mates...

I find clicking on links can be bit of hit and miss with the touch screen on some websites but not a huge issues as you can use the keypad to hit links.

Also did a quick speed test again on geekaphone.com and got 2.26mbps (248pts).

I finally understand why people like BBM now. You can't really describe it but it is just... so much better than texting.

Everytime i go to buy the Galaxy S2, i think of BBM, and think different.

It's the portal to women for me, i managed to get one friend from iPhone to BBM, as i couldn't explain to him how it's better for girls and just general chat, he is addicted now.

It's so hard to explain!

Are blackberrys worth it, ive had iphone 3gs (battery sucked) so sold, galaxy s2 battery sucked as did apps, and now im thinking of going blackberry, nearly everyone i know has blackberry.

I can't say as I don't have mine yet, but in your situation the fact most people you know have them will be a huge plus due to BBM?

Most people I know have iPhones (because of me :o) but BBM isn't a reason I'm getting one. :p

The Galaxy S II battery doesn't suck at all though (depending on how you define sucked), did you fiddle with the settings much? I agree on the apps front though.

The galaxy s2 got super hot when playing a LOW graphics game, most of them are, it gets hot even when nothings running, the power button/front button felt cheap, the power button started squeeking.

Cheap BBs (8520s and the like) are nothing like the decent ranges - if you like the crap ones you'll be fine. FWIW all phones get hot playing games, don't expect any different here. I've never had my S2 tester getting warm unless I'm using it a lot / charging though, if you're sure it's not an app running while its screen is off I'm going to say your example may be broken.

Totally agree, remember being given a Curve to test when they first brought out the touchpad instead of the trackball and I didn't last very long at all before giving it to someone else and going back to my 9000!

It was the keyboard and general build that did it for me, the bold keyboard is just so much easier and better than the others.
