Blackberry 9900/9930

They seem to have a Saturday delivery service, perhaps you can use that and get it tomorrow if the cut off time hasn't expired for today yet.

Thought I'd give Orange upgrades a go just to see what's what, lady said it was showing as 'delayed until further notice' on their system. Guess I'm waiting for the email then!

Just a word about the camera.

It's actually better than I was expecting. Yes, it can't handle macro shots but it holds enough detail so you can still make out text on paperwork for example even if you have to take the picture from further away.

While the EDoF lens isn't ideal, it has one good advantage; if something is moving, you don't get any blur. Many, many phone cameras suffer from blur problems because there is movement. It isn't great in low light, but no phone cameras are (even the mighty N8!).

It isn't particularly brilliant but it is perfectly acceptable. Outdoors you can take a decent picture. They look especially great on the crisp phone screen too.

I know this isn't a phone you would buy for the camera but it's handy to have one on you at all times. :)

Sweet, this looks like my next fone.

Oh and btw,
No phone camera compares to a decent digital camera, hence why a phone is a phone and a camera is a camera :D.

Just opened mine and started to play, no memory card in the box here either.

So far impressions are it's good.

Weirdly it's smaller than I remember it being in the shop the other week which is nice, still find myself reaching for the touchpad so need to get used to it having a touch screen.

So as a BlackBerry fan anyway it's great, just what I wanted.

If you're someone that likes all the apps and widgets of the other os's then you might be disappointed at the lack of that sort of thing.

I swear my old 9780 had a memory card !!

Anyway I think having the touch screen was a good idea on this phone !

It Just Works !

It's a bit of a free-for-all when it comes to phones coming with SD cards. 8GB built-in is plenty though (to start with) and you can get a 16GB one for £15~ so it's all good!

Still cannot get over how lovely a device it is to hold and use. Really really feels like a premium product, much much better than any android handset there.

Indeed, it's got the iPhone 4-esque feel to it, very premium.

I suppose the only Android handset with that sort of feel (though not to the same extent) is the HTC Sensation but it's quite poorly put together once you actually look past the aesthetics.

Is it shameful that I don't have anyone on BBM? Are there like discussion groups on it or something I read somewhere? I really don't know much about it other than that it's popular with young girls and for organising riots :o

Check crackberry forums, they have a section dedicated to BBM and people wanting BBM friends.

As for the cheapest place sim free...i think its still mobilephonesdirect.co.uk..they are selling it for £450 but i dont think they have them in stock till end of the month from what i have heard. Theres also blackberrystuff.co.uk who wont have them till tues but are selling them for about £500 including delivery...in fact i cancelled my order with handtec because blackberrystuff offer a 2 yr warranty with a courier replacement in those 2 yrs so sod having to send it off to them to get it fixed or replaced.
