Blackberry 9900/9930

Whoa, I don't WANT random BBM friends, I just wondered how it works... :D

MPD only have the contract Vodafone devices in stock at the moment, correct, the rest will be available on the 29th.

I knew that £26/month deal was a bit too cheap, they told me Vodafone forced them to remove it as nobody was buying it from them directly (on new contracts, anyway)! It's gone up to £31 now.

Edit - Thanks for the link though Spawn, some of those groups sound dodgy though... "The flirty group, 18+", are you a member of that? :p ;)

Actually, there are a quite concerning amount of groups called things like "BBM xxx 18+"...

Oh dear. :o

LOL nah mate, i dont bother with those groups....guess some people like that sort of stuff but its not for me as i have a missus so dont need any of that virtual rubbish:p

BBM just works like an instant messenger but its always on...similar to whatsapp, who funnily enough have sort of copied BBM. Everything is done in real time and is quick and easy.

Check crackberry forums, they have a section dedicated to BBM and people wanting BBM friends.

As for the cheapest place sim free...i think its still mobilephonesdirect.co.uk..they are selling it for £450 but i dont think they have them in stock till end of the month from what i have heard. Theres also blackberrystuff.co.uk who wont have them till tues but are selling them for about £500 including delivery...in fact i cancelled my order with handtec because blackberrystuff offer a 2 yr warranty with a courier replacement in those 2 yrs so sod having to send it off to them to get it fixed or replaced.

TBH, Avoid Sim Free with them. It's a lot of hassle over nothing, I mean delaying your order by a week so you can send in proof of address just because it's sim free. Fair enough it's in their T+C's, but I'd much rather fork out the extra £50 and avoid any real hassle :)

Indeed, thats why ive gone with blackberrystuff.co.uk

The fact that they offer a 2yr warranty and direct swapout should anything happen was what interested me the most. But they wont have stock till Tues sadly...am gonna ring them Mon and see what they say.

Loving mine, exactly what I was after in a phone.

Ok a cheaper qwerty handset would have probably done but this is very slick.

I've gone with the £26 a month tariff from MPD and the handset only cost £50... Haven't got my email yet saying I passed the credit check so looks like I wont get it until Tuesday/Wednesday :(

Shame you didn't order that a few days ago when the handset was free! :(

Still, it's not the end of the world!

Yeah I know! Oh well, it's still a good price per month for what you get :)
How long did it take you to get your credit-check approval e-mail from them Robbo?

Damn..mobilephonesdirect are ****take! I was gonna go with handtec. Any reason why you're not buying from handtec? They have them in stock!

When Taking the phone out of the holster does the trackpad touch the holster ??

Happen to anyone else ?

You don't get one, it just goes to 'Ready to Despatch' on the order tracker on the site. You don't always get a despatch email either until the day it's due to arrive, it's a bit odd :p

Yes. I assume it's just designed that way.

The fact that blackberrystuff give a 2 yr warranty and you get a courier replacement if anything happens to the phone within the 2 yrs....means that they dont send it back to RIM and wait for them to fix/replace it then send it back to you.

Not 110% sure on that but am gonna check monday monring to see what the deal is with the warranty...

Im in no major hurry to get the phone as it is...i want it but i dont need it really.

spawn have you had any experience with blackberrystuff and their warranty as thinking about buying one but dont know if the sites reputable

Not really, its the first time im ordering with them but i have spoken to them earlier last week and they seem pretty reputable...think they are stoke based.

I went with Handtec, I see you had an order with them but cancelled? What happened? :)

EDIT: You answered in above post(s).

Just incase anyone is wondering, this is roughly what you can expect from a mid-range outdoor shot.

The colour reproduction is very good. The detail could be better but it isn't too bad. I've cropped it down of course but I'm sure the majority of you would view it with the size reduced in some way.

Anyway, I'm still very much enjoying the phone, it's quite a lot better than I was expecting it to be. :D

The keyboard is just spectacular, I went back to my Moto Milestone to do something last night and oh my god, how did I ever use that thing? the clicky hard buttons of the BB are just leagues ahead. My thumbs ache from texting and bbm, mind :D
