Blackberry 9900/9930

I've been following the 9900 on crackberry for some time now in eager anticipation :) I've had a 9700 for about 18 months now, best phone I have ever had, hence wanting to stay with BB. The keyboard is perfect, the OS is great, internet is fast and multi-tasking is great, battery lasts around 18-24 hours for me, with very heavy usage. Couldn't ask for anything better!

I'm due an upgrade in the next week I think, and seeing the 9900 on the Voda website is good to see, I hope it's here by July/August :)

Does BB support mobile hotspot?

No one has confirmed if it will support mobile hotspot...think its down to the carriers if they support it or not but as of yet, no solid proof that it will be there....one of the main reasons why i stay away from network branded phones...they **** around with the phone far too much for my liking :(.

Is it made from gold? Surely it'll be a similar price to the 9780? ~£350?

Its made out of kryptonite:p...and no it most probably wont be anywhere close to the 9780 price as the specs on the 9900/9930 are far more better and its a better built device, stainless steel around the sides and a carbon fiber battery cover...its a much better built and specced device than any other BB device out there...but like i said i wont be paying rip off UK costs...ill just get one from Canada or America later this summer.

I think I'm swaying towards this. BBM would be loveely to have too, so...

Hoping we get some decent contracts. 18months at £35 with ulimited texts/some data/bb/600mins and a minimal upfront cost would be spot on, I think!

Sounds a little hopeful to me, depending on your definition of minimal

I'll be embarking on my 12th straight year with Orange in August so if they don't bend over backwards to keep me happy then I'll be laying it on pretty heavy with their cancellations department ;)

I'm on Voda and pay £40/pm for 18 months: 800 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb internet and BIS. Got my 9700 for free with that, I should be able to get a 9900 as a free upgrade I hope!

£35 with £100 up front doesn't sound too unrealistic then. Will be at uni for most of my contract so monthly expenses need to be minimized, whereas this summer I am pretty rich aha.

That's not how they work.. If you're keeping within their contract limits and not incurring extra charges regularly, then you're not making them much money and they won't value you highly enough to really push the upgrade value to keep you

Nice 5MP phones are coming out with 8MP+ also with 1080p recording, also why the **** is the audio jack on the side, most dumbest idea ever, when you put it in ur pocket it will pull the wire and break, FAIL.

12 years ..... I'm only coming up on my 3rd year lol

I do like the look of this though - Defo 1 big step up from a 8250 (which is what I currently have). Blackberry > iPhone :p

They can shove it then! Will see what they say come August, especially if another network providor will offer something better that I can quote.

Can't wait for this. Been looking for another BB for a bit as I'm really not getting on with my Nexus S that well. Android is just not for me I'm afraid.

Rumours are...maybe July, most probably August but definitely by Sept.

If it's out before September I'll eat my hat. Considering it was leaked to the press that it was delayed until then I think I'm fairly safe. They could probably do with spending more time on considering they will be against the iphone 5 anyway.

They are under huge pressures to ship something that's actually good and can compete - if they don't then the enterprise market will move on within 12 months to mobile exchange and at that point they are double dipping their losses on BES and handsets.
