Blackberry 9900/9930

CPW told me they think it will be released pretty much the same time as the iphone 5.

This was yesterday. I am on Orange. still toying with the idea of a iphone or this. Been a BB 8900 user for the last 19 months. So I like BB, but tempted (the geek in me) with the iphone due to so many apps.

I've been following Engadget and Crackberry everyday for the past 2 months. Play and Amazon had listings for mid September, so that would be a good bet.

Gonna be hard to decide if the next iPhone happens to be released around that time too!

Looks like the 9900/9930 has just passed the FCC so next stop i would imagine is networks and retail mobile phone shops.

Its looking more and more likely that it might be out by early sept, which sucks really but im in no hurry to get it...id rather they get it right and a few lucky people have got their hands on it and are testing them..so far seems pretty good but obviously they arent allowed to divulge much...

I guess we'll have to wait a little longer then :(

I'm going to see what'a what with the iPhone 5 but I'm still leaning towards the BB at the moment.

Dialaphone have pre-orders up for Voda and Orange contracts: http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/aw1/sea...00&intcid=&intcid=BlackBerry-Bold-9900-banner

Very tempted by the 900mins/Ulim texts/500meg data voda are offering on a 12 month contract. £46 with £120 up front but freedom from bloody 18 month waits for a new phone, and the money I could recoup by selling the phone at the end of it will make it a reasonable deal.

T-mob and o2 there too. Might ring that t-mobile upgrade number and see if they can give me a good deal :)

Right not sure about carrier release dates but the sim free models in the UK should be released by Aug 15th...quite a few places ie carphone warehouse etc have dates saying 15th of Aug....sim free prices are around £500-ish so not cheap by any means but then this is possibly the best BB device that money can buy. Also the 9790 which is similar to the 9900 ie with the updated specs and touchscreen will also be out soon, no date yet...only difference between the 9900 and 9790 is that the 9790 will be similar in size to the 9700 series of BB's

Expansys: 15th August 2011
Gum Mobile: 12th August 2011
Unlocked Mobiles: 12th August 2011
King of Gadgets: Early August
Supertrader: 15th of August
Handtec: 15th of August
Play: 15th of August
Amazon: 15th of September

Already placed my pre-order with handtec.

My contract runs out with T Mobile on the 25th of August... Just need to look into whether I have to give them a months notice, as I will be wanting to swap ASAP!

I could not imagine being tied to the phone for 24 months though! The 12 months deals they are offering are damn good imo

I agree. Phones change so much in such a short amount of time. 24 months is hell of a long time to be tied to the same handset when you know in 6 months time something else will be on the market that interests you.

£110 upfront, £46 a month, £50 cashback
£612 for the phone + contract for a year.
Sim free price is over £500 so it really isn't bad.

I'm more than happy to pay the hefty premium (prob about £10 a month) in order to have a 12 month contract. My milestone is SO out of date after 18 months.

None of the 18 month Vodafone contracts through CPW have this without any cash up front

Of course they wont:confused:...its a £500+ phone so the networks will be looking to tie you in for at least 2 yrs, that way they can recoup their costs but yet still give you the phone free on lower end tariffs.

Aug 15th seems to be the release date for the network free 9900, already have mine on pre-order so about a couple of weeks and ill have this baby in my hands...cannot wait:D

So so so tempted to whack mine on pre order but I think my t mob contract runs out on the 25th... would they let me port out early if I paid them full whack for the month? I reaaally want rid of my milestone and to have something that works robustly as a phone. Plus, new tech and all that :D
