Blackberry 9900/9930

I'll get BB Desktop Manager installed this eve then and see what's what.

My unbranded orange one is on 353 already, 100% battery this morning, by 2pm it was 30% and all I made was 2 5 minute calls.
Maybe because of the BBM issues, it's trying to access and that's using more battery???

Yeah mine's on 353 too, battery looks to be lasting bang on 24hrs with average use! As has already been said though, it's a poweful little box of tricks with a high-res screen and other such bells & whistles so as long as having it on charge on my desk throughout the day won't kill the battery's lifespan then that's what I'll be doing.

My battery has been terrible since the BIS outage, it lasted 8 hours today before needing a charge,it's taken a dozen pics and sent about 5 texts as I was so busy today. Normally I use around 50-60% all day with heavy usage.

Slightly off topic, but my Bold has been the same battery wise, usually lasts 5 days with general use, struggling to get over a day with BIS being down!

As i said earlier, im suffering from bad battery life since the BIS outage...usually i get a good days use and thats using my BB pretty hard.

I suggest that turning off your data connection for time being if u want decent battery life otherwise the phone is constantly looking to connect to the BIS but cant because of the outage.

can i ask before i take the plunge on the 9900

I have had 8900 for past 22 months.

Apart from the touch screen and it being a bit faster than the 8900. Will I notice anything different from the 9900 compared to my 8900?

Or it is pretty much the same.

Faster, Better OS, Better Keyboard, Better Browser !!

Yea I think it will be much better then the 8900 !!!!

Go for it !

I upgraded from a 9700 Bold and the 9900 is sooo much better then it !!!

Yes, totally agree with theone91, now that all BB data is working, the phone is amazing.
I've upgraded from a 9000 bold and it so quick, responsive and everything just looks so crisp.

Anyone else on Orange Panther with swapables, try out the deezer app, very good, will now try the sky sports one!

But youc an update to the latest OS 353 which improves battery life or the newest update 430 but its early days for 430 so im giving it a few days to see what people say about it. At the moment im running the 440 OS leak and my battery has been pretty decent besides the data outage.
Where do you go to get these new OS downloads? I use This link at work for our devices there, but the 9900 isn't listed?

A little bit faster??...you have a giraffe mate??...this thing smokes the 8900 and previous Berries out of the water tbqh.

Honestly majority of the people who have upgraded to the 9900 are absolutely loving theirs...im totally in love with mine even after a months use of it. Only a few pathetic anally retentive idiots are complaining about the most minor of things lol.

But the 9900 for me is the best BB out there bar none...it really is an amazing device tbqh.

I usually get mine from crackberry where in the 9900 part of the forum, they usually have the latest official releases.

Bold 9900 forum: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-bold-9930-9900-f235/

or

for the leaked versions ie not official but tbh theres no real difference between official and leaked other than a vendors stamp of approval, you can go here : http://forums.crackberry.com/leaked-beta-os-f95/

After using the phone for the first time with BBM for the whole day from 7am to now (8.30pm), a bit of surfing, a few emails, twitter checking about 10 times, some music playback all over 3G, I have 35% battery life. - Not bad really and not as bad as others are making out, have Orange got it configured better?

will there be able way to use the 9900 as a form of sat nav? any apps etc?
I presume so. I don't know of any but if I need directions Google Maps works in terms of setting up a route, showing where the traffic is and following your location. Will have a look now because I'm actually quite interested in one.
