Blackberry 9900/9930

My local carphone warehouse (round the corner from my office) have the 9900 on orange upgrades, £31pm phone for free, 400 mins, 750mb data, unlimited texts. The guy there said it was orange branded, surely that cant be true?
Anyways does it matter if I get it through carphone warehouse or orange?

I'm pretty sure the handset you would get is unlocked and not branded.

Depends, if the branding is just on the battery cover then sure it would be easy to do but I doubt it is as we LOVE to brand parts we shouldn't. Either way, the difference is in the firmware and CPW use generics 97% of the time so they can just stock 1 handset for 5 networks. Minimum cost, maximum stock throughput, least problems.

So why do Orange not do it then? If CPW can do it, why not Orange?

LOL was about to post the same thing...seems like the 9900 is available on Orange now...wouldnt be surprised if it gets pulled because its failed testing...i really do feel sorry for Orange and Tmobile customers who want to upgrade to this phone....im on tmobile but i already have mine as i bought mine off line.

Bloody hell! Is it finally out?!?!?

Who knows, called yesterday evening, agreed a price of £31pm free phone, they said the release was any day and if I agreed to the pricing they would send when they have in stock.

Called this morning and as i'm not due an upgrade anymore got to customer services in India call centre. Dude said that it is now mid-oct, I said I was told imminent, so said I wanted to cancel my upgrade, he spoke to his manager and came back and said he could offer to lower my deal to £27pm if I didnt cancel the upgrade. Agreed this and now its out???

Will call later when I have a chance

Is there anyway to see all the TopCashBack offers from Vodafone?

I need a proof, just incase they tried to pull a fast one on me. It seems like this Cash Back stuff is hit and miss, and companies will try to do anything to stop paying out.

woohoo!!! :D Sorted my upgrade last night, handset arrives on Monday. :p

Well done!

Just got off the phone, my upgrade will be with me on monday too!

But they said the £27pm promised me was incorrect (from India call centre guy) as he had cancelled the upgrade, to get back the 9900 as an upgrade I would need to pay the previously agreed £31pm. The retentions/upgrade guy wouldnt budge and so will pay £31pm for time being
I have the details of the India call centre guy and will call him later to get back the £27pm he promised me

Yeah I'm gonna knock my contract down after 6 months or however long you have to wait. I don't even use all of the 200mins I have on my current deal so no idea what I'm gonna do with 700! The next step down would've meant the phone went up to £160 though.

It's bizarre, I dont understand the pricing at all, they offered the phone for free on £31pm, and at £26pm the phone would be £149.99, considering the difference is £120 for the two?!?!

Can you still move down your monthly tariff after 6 months, I thought you had to stick to it?

just spoke to Orange.

been offered 9900 FOC, with 600 mins, unlimited texts, 1gb internet, bb service and orange care @£37 x 24 months.

Been with them 12+ years, really thought I would get it lower than that. So sat on fence at moment.
