Blackwell gpus

Most are on contracts, The network I'm on you can get an iPhone 15 Pro Max for £50 per month and then upgrade to the next newest one at the end of the contract whenever that comes out.
You could probably do the same on credit with a GPU. You're probably better off with streaming services these days if your situation is so bad you can't afford outright though.

Also the phone covers a lot of their computing, photographic and audio needs and is used daily.

If they can get enough companies to support it that is, then it's a cheaper solution. Especially once standalone low latency 5G is a thing in most developed countries, and gigabit internet is the norm, also lots of people are put off by past experiences testing this stuff out not realising the massive improvements that have taken place. If they can get it to a point where image quality is close to indistinguishable that'll be the transition point for many.

I did it myself for a couple of months before committing to a dedicated gaming pc again.

GeforceNow is still the only viable solution at the moment, followed by shadow (if you want the whole windows client as well) maybe others have improved since I last used any of them?

Yeah people even do full on video editing from there now, and for most people that's good enough for their needs.

Also as we're heading into £2K+ tier territory  potentially, they better deliver something worthy of the price gap. Or the 4090 is good enough without RT... let's be honest...maybe I should just buy as a scalper for a quick pay day ;)

About to sell along with the rest of my setup, Just waiting for the buyer/s. The money is going on baby stuff, I've signed out of PC gaming. Unless prices for decent performance re-enter sane territory I won't be PC gaming again as investing in family now takes top priority.
Been there, doing that, 3 kids later….. My advice, if you enjoy, don’t let it go. Kids are hard work and you need some quality me time when you can get it.

I reckon so yeah, Most millennial and gen z peeps are kinda struggling with even paying rent nevermind buying a GPU upwards of £1000.
Agree. Here's a typical pc gamer arriving for a local meetup:

Am guessing for around another £40 per month they could have them items as well

From previous experience it's roughly £100 per month for the main system not counting peripherals and monitor that takes around 3-4 years to pay off, I don't know any gen z, At least in my own friend and family circle, Who want to pay that amount out per month on a computer for 3+ years.

I never had finance for any of my computer items, But i have had finance many times before for some my other luxuries toys like motorbikes, boats , A £3,000 Pioneer Plasma TV :o etc over the years

I wouldn't say someone paying £100 per month if they were big time into gaming is bad as everyone has something there into that normally costs a lot money (I.E What you're into wants kids ;) )

Think the only reason i never had finance for a computer is because i only ever upgraded them bit by bit as i had the funds available.

Don't need to spend that amount for a decent gaming experience - few games really trouble any recent CPU - even many 10 year old CPUs still just about cope with the latest titles. Loads of slightly older GPU options, only decent FPS at 4K is really an expensive game right now

Completely agree with this. You'll definately need me time. My me time is pc, guitars and mountain bikes, neither are cheap hobbies but without them my kids would have driven me insane years ago!
