Blackwell gpus

better for someone to use it then sitting in its box.. ill be well blasting with my 5090 lol...
Why would it be sitting in a box? Sell it and buy something the 10 year old something suitable. Does the 10 year old even already have a PC case and a PSU and CPU capable of housing and powering a massive 4090 or would you have to upgrade their entire PC?

That would require about a 50% uplift over the so might be doable.

Yeah the 60 series is a bust now and will end up holding back RT adoption as that’s the price range where most people usually shop.

It's more about the consoles, they mainly need to do it. Hopefully next gen won't have under powered hardware like Series S holding everything back. Fingers crossed AMD can at least match an 4080, including its tech, to put it in the next boxes.

haha not a chance matey my hole pc is going to my wee grand daughter and if i get the 5090 (which i am ill probably give her the 4090 as a good starting gift..

Can a 4090 run the Roblox & Sims games

I gave my 2080ti & the rest of the PC 8700k/32GB/500GB M.2 etc to my niece when i bought my 4090 and that was the only games she ever played back then
(She now moved onto Fortnite these days )

My son has been using my old 2080Ti and 2700X since I upgraded a few years ago.

He’ll end up with my 5950X and 4090FE when I upgrade next year.

Hoping for a 9950X3D and 5090FE combo but I’m a bit out of touch with AM5 and RAM so will need to do some research before buying.

To be fair, he plays more games than I do and he’s 12.

Sounds like you've decided unless you plan on running both? xD

No I mean if I get a 50 I'm not getting rid of the 40. Can happily stay in it's box as a backup/spare.

Or I'll give it to my 12-year-old nephew just to rustle people's Jimmy's.
