Id be happy if AMD do another 5700Xt. launch - a ‘mid range’ card that offers 7900XTX performance at 250 watts £499 but with better raytracing performance - will be happy with 16gb VRAM. Would be the perfect 1440p card imo….

It is said that the GB202 "Blackwell" GPU will be physically monolithic in design and from the earlier reports, we know that it is expected to feature twice the number of SMs and cores as GB203 which is a more cut-down die for the likes of the GeForce RTX 5080. That will form a huge disparity in the performance between the two cards but the RTX 5090 is shaping up to be a complete beast.
While NVIDIA has solutions to overcome the bottlenecks such as NVLINK and other interconnects, they might get a little bit expensive as they add to to the complexity of the GPU.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU To Feature A Massive Monolithic GB202 "Blackwell" Die
NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090 flagship GPU is going to feature a massive & monolithic GB202 "Blackwell" die, reports Kopite7kimi.wccftech.com
Hmmm massive monolithic die and 3 PCBs? Could it be massive monolithic die with chiplet-esque design under the hood?
I'd bet my anal entrance he knows a hell of a lot more than anyone on here.Does leather jacket man know something we don't?
I read that as what the 4080 is to the 4090, a huge difference in performance. So am fully expecting the 5090 to once again be the halo card of the lineup, with the 5080 continuing where the 4080 left off.
Once again, I can't see the 5080 being anything less than 4090 pricing, leaving the 5090 to hit the £2k mark as many have predicted.
The 5080 needs to have over 16GB VRAM either way, it will be a 4K card and we have games that use nearly 20GB of VRAM even at 3440x1440 - If it has anything less than 18GB VRAM then that's a duff move. Though we've seen nvidia walk back their mistakes in the past in terms of VRAM and "UN-announcing" a card so who knows what they will goof up with 50 series.
The 4080 sales were terrible at $1200 so I can’t see Nvidia asking $1600 for a 5080 which would likely have similar or slightly less performance than a 4090 if Nvidias plan is to sell into china like we keep hearing.I read that as what the 4080 is to the 4090, a huge difference in performance. For me so far it's GB203 for 5080 w/16GB (maybe even slightly cut-down for a future Super version on the same chip), the full GB202 (32GB+) for AI and professional (big money!!) and a cut-down GB202 for 5090 w/24GB and 384-bit bus. Time will tell.Personally I think it will be 16gb and be cheaper than a 4090. But we will see. Might have 20gb or something.

And 3 PCBs on different levels/planes within the cooler. Lmao RIP custom water cooling
I assume AIB cards would still be a single large PCB otherwise AIBs could be in some trouble with having to copy Nvidia's cooling design
Yep. This makes sense to me. But they are known for surprising us at times so who knows.
What I do know is if they price it silly I will be just keeping my 4070 Ti. They basically need to improve price for performance otherwise I am not going to upgrade.
The way mrk is talking he thinks price for performance will not improve, therefor more performance will mean more money. Could happen, has done before. But generally that is not the case.
Cant fault the 4070ti especially if you can get it for around 600 or less.
Got mine last year for £575. Cracking card for the price in this market imo.
I'm guessing they've got some secret sauce in this regard if rumour is true. Either that or it's 4 foot longor Nvidia has made an air cooler that far more efficient than other air coolers
