BMW 330 e46 - Pics of Msport/Non Msport cars?

Lol no. Not at all.

I just have quite specific requirements i guess. 02 or newer, sub 120k miles, leather, manual, full bmw/specialist history and ofcourse the condition must be as good as can be expected for a car 5years or older.

Why 02 or newer, the 330Ci Sport came out in 2001 on a Y plate so for the sake of 1 year you can include every 330Ci Sport made in your search?

Id prefere to have a car 7 years old max to be honest. Ideally 5 years old if possible although my max budget is ideally £8k - £9k at a push if the right car comes along so not sure how achievable this is.

Whilst I sort of get the point going as far back as 2002 but not wishing to consider 2001 to include the entire range of production seems a bit pointless. Do you really think a 2002 is any different a 2001? We are talking a matter of months of age difference on a car thats 7 years old already..

Ok point taken. I am just having a scout through the classifieds at the min looking whats around inc pre 2002. What i do find quite astounding is just how much prices vary.

This is because some of them are, despite looking shiney in the pictures, complete and utter nails you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. IMO there is no such thing as a good cheap BMW. Pay proper money or you'll end up paying proper money anyway fixing up a crap polished turd.

The 3 Series Coupe is probably the biggest idiot magnet on the used car market. Everyone wants a phat beemer innit and the poor old E46 Coupe really is the prime target of the 'wikid beemer mate' crowd at the moment. Don't buy a car thats been owned by somebody like that :/

The problem with BMW's is that every retarded halfwit wants a 'beemer'. It's an aspirational brand amongst the complete twonks of the universe who think image is everything and owning a 5 year old BMW will make them 'da bomb'. Hence the reputation BMW drivers have on the road.

This means as they get older its harder and harder to find that lovely car thats been owned since new by somebody with half a brain who understands you don't put Linglong tyres on a 230bhp Coupe and no, morrisons oil won't work.

Completely agree with everything your saying.

When i bought my Clio 182 i paid over the odds for that due to the nature of the car. The lad i bought it of was of similar age to myself however he had always had the car serviced at Renault and the car had Michelin PE2 tyres all round that had been fitted during his ownership. This so far seems to have paid of well in the 18months or so ive had my 182 as its been faultless during ownership.

Ive just been looking at the saloons and it does appear you get a lot more for your money with them. They dont however have the same visual appeal to me as the coupe's do. This may sound a little daft i know as they are essentially the same car minus 2 doors but i just cant help but think if i bought a saloon id end up regretting it.

For me, the E46 range is Facelift Coupe > Facelift Saloon > Prefacelift Coupe > Prefacelift Saloon. I hate the front lights on the prefacelift E46 and its such a damn nuisance the M3 never got the facelift lights. Just looks 90's whereas the facelift saloon and coupe have fresher front ends.

Say you find a coupe advertised as a sport, but you suspect it is just a normal full spec coupe with the sport alloys and black leather interior and body kit... how can you tell if it a genuine sport or not? (ie. with the sport suspension)

Genuine Sports will have black anthracite headlining. You could also do an insurance search on it which will show it as a "Sport".

https://www.raccheck.com/consumer/vehicleDetails1.do

It will also have the Sports seats with adjustable knee support.

There's actually quite a few things to tell a Sport out of an SE.

Oh was the knee support only on the sports? I didn't know that. Yeah I suppose there are a few ways to tell, I just don't want to get caught out on one thats had all the asthetics done to make it appear like a sport. I guess insurance checks would be the best way to tell, behind the more expensive HPI of course.

Cheers mrk

The Sports seats have knee support, it's only natural to put sports seats in a sport :p

Obviously the sports seats are easily installable on an SE but how likely is that going to be :D

Follow the headlining tbh an you'll have a Sport.
