BMW 330 e46 - Pics of Msport/Non Msport cars?

Just to show that Topaz Blue looks as good as (if not better :p) than boring old silver:

First person to say "It's got the wrong grille" gets a slap :p

Yes an E46 with completely different sized wheels will look silly.

Put like that it does actually sound like it will be stupid, but in my head I picture it looking crisp. My friend has a E36 with 18s on the back and 17s on the front and you can't really notice the size difference unless you look for it, he said it handles better with the smaller size on the front compared to the way it did before, and to be honest it doesn't look bad at all.

If you are earning so much money that in under a year you will be able to afford £40,000 worth of E92 M3 then why buy a 325i to save a couple of hundred quid on insurance

Confusing thread is confusing.

For tax reasons my pay will be given in dividends as well as a sallary so after a certain amount of time I get lump sums... that's all I can really say without being too bait. And at the moment I'm buying a flat, so I'll be poor-ish until after the next few dividends, by then I will be 25 as well which will decrease the insurance for a bonus, and I will have my own flat. Good enough for you?

Different sized wheels ! It will look like a Silver Cross pram.

Cant understand how you would moan about £300 extra insurance yet stick wheels on that will need £700 of rubber?

I'm not really moaning I just don't see the need in spending more than I need to, and the difference between a 325 and 330 is what less than a second? They both have enough power for me to have some fun with until I get my next car. And the wheels, well I just fell in love with them and thought they would make the car stand out and look pretty decent.

Have you driven either of them?

Driven a friends 330 twice but mainly drive a 325 and I know the 330 is more powerful and feels slightly quicker (especially in the higher speeds), but I'm not in it for the straight line speed, I just want enough power to be able to unsettle the car around a corner and the 325 does that just fine. I will "waste" my money on insurance and servicing costs and fuel when I get an M3, but for now and for the current purpose a 325 will suit me fine.

So why spend 40 grand on an E92 M3? £20k gets a nice 330i.

Are you some sort of wannabe drift hero?

I didn't say anything about 40 grand, if you must know I have a family friend who said he will sort me out a good price ;) but yeah, I would like to own an M3 rather than a standard 3 just because I've always wanted one.

And no I'm not a "wannabe drift hero", but I do enjoy sliding BMWs around corners and having a bit of fun in industrial estates, I don't want to sound pompous or anything but I'm not exactly bad at it.

Just how good can you be at drifting an open-diff'd car around?

I enjoy unsettling my cars too, but its just not practical nor communicative enough to hold a decent slide.

Yeah you can't go on like the Japs, but you can control it which is the fun part. My friend has an E36 325 which is pumping out around 230 bhp and that is very good fun!

It sounds like my advice about the sort of people you should avoid buying a BMW from is irrelevent as you seem to fit that bill :(

Fake rimz, industrial estate burnouts all you need now is your mate from Brum to service it with Morrisons oil and its sorted.

Touché... but why would I buy this car for enjoyment and then not enjoy it? I may sound like a d*** head chav just out to rag around a car but trust me I'm not, I enjoy the way I drive as I get a hell of a lot of pleasure from it which is why I do look after cars and I do pay for respectable maintenance.

Just seen this thread and had a read through it. Been on the lookout for a nice 330ci locally myself. I'd prefer the facelift, and under 100k miles! why do all bmw's have high miles *sigh*
