BMW and M Power Owners

Thanks, but unless they do one with the N53 engine then I'll just have to live with it. Although I read that you or someone said the N53 is newer so less proven for reliability which is a trade off against that for the N52. I guess the bottom line is that although I like good mpg, who doesn't? It won't be a deal breaker if it doesn't do 50mpg, or 40mpg. I'd happily live with 30mpg.

Xenons, noted!

So the TT Quattro S Line came yesterday and....I hate it.

Can't believe I'm giving up the 123d for this piece of junk.

They don't do it with an N53 because the majority of petrol 1 Coupe sales are outside of Europe where the N53 is not sold due to sulphur content in fuel. Therefore it simply wasn't worth fitting it in cars where this was the case - same situation with the E89 Z4, too.

You are correct in that the N53 trades reliability for fuel consumption. The N52 is pretty reliable.

That said it'll still at least equal if not better the impressive figures some of us get from the older M54 engined cars :)

Here is my collection

My first BMW, an E36 328. This died after 167000 miles (probably Nikasil related) and was broken for parts...

I replaced it with an E36 328 Sport individual...

After driving an E46 I decided to take the plunge and get this one...

Not enough Sharks on this thread...

Have a proper BMW

1986 635CSi Auto. However, her 26 years and 225,000 miles are catching up with her. She's currently hiding under a nice warm cover until I have some cash to throw at her. It breaks my heart to not be able to go for a drive but she will ride again come the summer. I started with E30 316i which fuelled my BMW passion. The E36 in the background was just a cheap runaround for work, long since gone. Also had a couple of E39 540i Sports, one manual and one auto. The manual I binned on a bend after 19minutes of ownership and was written off :-(. The other got sold on when I needed some cash. Will never sell my shark though.

Yes. Covered about 23 miles from the garage I bought it from, and was less than 2 miles from home. Floored the throttle in 4th on the straight and round she went. Took my pride a long time to recover, and my wallet even longer. Lesson learned though. Its replacment lasted much much longer and was only sold as I couldn't justify 25mpg on my commute to work. Am tempted to get one again as they go for peanuts as no one can afford to keep them fueled.

I've had 3 BMW's

1st was a E36 325i Coupe which I really liked, was black and an auto and drove very very well.

2nd was an E46 330d that I had from new, and again was a great car apart from the brakes didn't work in the wet and BMW didn't have any intrest in sorting.

3rd was an E90 335d M Sport that I had for 2 years, great car again, BMW customer service after I bought it was and when had a turbo actuator fail was utterly useless.

Been a while since I saw an E46 looking as pristine as that, wonderful :)

Looking to get my 335i serviced in the next few weeks.

Had some lolworthy quotes, but finally managed to find a dealer i can negotiate with and got them down to £323 for:

- Oil Service (i'm providing the oil - only cost me £45 and they wanted £120 just for the oil!)
- Spark plugs
- Air filter
- Vehicle inspection

Is this a decent deal? In line with what other people have paid?
