This clause is an enhancement to the product, it used to exclude wear and tear as does every other warranty. Now it's included to 100k.

Thanks for the clarity Fox. Is there any mileage to keeping the warranty after 100K that you know? If the gearbox or engine fails would that be covered?

Tbh I'd take them back, make them aware of the other issues and expect first class service. You shouldn't have to much about with it yourself particularly if they've caused the problem.
If you do go tinkering and something has been damaged you may have no come-back.

Components can be damaged by electrical shorts/surges though. That's where my concern would be. As you say, definitely make the chumps aware. Poor performance from them however.

Thanks for the advice guys. I called them up today and they said I could bring the car back and they would check it with a tech there and then. I didn't have time during the day.

Got home to find some responses on a M3 forum suggesting it was probably a disconnected cable to the BT antenna. Located said antenna by removing two screws and panel below the glovebox to find the cable lying loose. Reconnected and everything is working perfectly again!

Letter of complaint going to Sytner Nottingham for shody work and scratching up my interior!

You can have warrantys without issue after 100K you just have to have had them pre 100k

This isn't relevant to the BMW wear policy. It covers components for wear up to 100k. After that it's just standard mechanical and electrical failure which to be fair still covers most things. Just not parts that wear out ie dampers etc.

of course but he was asking for major items such as engine and gearbox which would still be covered, I had a fully comprehensive policy which was under 60k and didn't cover shockers things like that don't bother me but a new engine or gearbox are a different kettle

Small world, I had a look at that very car I'm pretty sure! - the colour combination stood out and works so very well.

Wasn't looking to buy that, was with my dad whilst he mooched around 1,3 and X3's they had. :)

Did you have your free Starbucks? :D (on site branch at that dealer)

Indeed! I've always struggled with my dark blues and blacks for some reason, this car didn't help as I didn't have a clue what colour it was :o

Didn't get the Starbucks, took the wife and my 15 month old who just wanted to run around shouting "CAR,CAR,CAR" at every model in the showroom, didn't make for the most relaxing experience ever! :p

Don't know if you noticed the wear on the armrest then? Can just about make it out on the photos where there is a light patch. My holding deposit is subject to that being repaired or replaced to a satisfactory level... they have assured me I won't be able to spot anything when they've done with it.

Very nice, what options did you choose?

I ordered my M135i LCI in Feb 15 and got it in May 15. It's a frustrating wait!

Didn't go too crazy on the options; Auto, Adaptive Suspension, Heated seats & wheel, Driver comfort pack and advanced speakers.

Didn't spec Pro nav, but although it does look much better with the larger screen - I just didn't think it was worth the extra £900.

Will that not more than wipe out at least £900 value when you come to sell it though? Non pro-nav cars are surely pretty unattractive when used, unless they are a bargain?

I'd drop the heated seats and wheel and put it towards the Pro Nav (appreciate there's a massive shortfall).

Makes the interior look and feel like a different car.

Auto ZF8, adaptive suspension and Pro Nav... Pretty much the minimum spec I'd say.

Nice grey M140i in the work car park. :) Enjoy the driving and petrol stations. :p (*pro nav is overrated)

Had my M135i in for a service and was given a 120d with the standard nav for 24 hours. Ugh, the Pro Nav is a lot of things, overrated is not one of them! :D

I think it tends to be a bigger deal on the 3/5 series, plus I think it it would mainly affect if I sold private, p/x I'm not sure it would affect the value so much.

I've had a play with both systems for a while, and I'm really not bothered about the pro nav. I get the logic of adding it to improve residuals but I'm not sure it would have a massive impact from what I've seen.

I turn on the radio/pick some music and dont use it for hours on end.....

Ah, I'm always fiddling with the settings with the Pro Nav, flipping between music and sat nav, split screens with engine information et al. Love it, and makes the car largely feel like an F gen car rather than an E gen.

Not to mention the business nav looks incomplete IMO. The Pro Nav completes the finish of the interior (which isn't the best to begin with).

I really want an M2, but think I better get a 140i as I have kids

Get em to clamber in the back!
