Oh really?

Just specced one up on Coast2Coast cars. Same spec - £28572 OTR.

Hmm maybe I'm doing something wrong but when I spec a 5 door auto with that spec as 29,491 with 7,459 saving.

True, although when I tried it last the dealer (BMW Gatwick) wouldn't budge and said it had to be done properly through C2C.

For what it's worth I think the deal you posted would be maybe £10 p/m cheaper via TRL, but it's pretty close. If I recall there's a dealer (Bath I think) doing slightly better than TRL if you check the deals thread on babybmw.

I ended up buying local. My dealer were £12 a month more than Tony but gave me a service plan to close it up a bit more.

In the end I went with my local dealer as they were more than helpful in letting me test a car etc.

I reckon yes due to the washers.

I came to that conclusion but just left of the steering wheel looks like headlamp height adjusters, not sure about the E39 but the E46 you couldn't adjust xenon headlights.

I want a G31, even with the naff stuck on iPad. The more I look at it, the more I love it. And it comes with LED lights as standard, which is a good thing as the whole look of the G30/G31 would be ruined without those lights

The standard lights aren't the ones they show on all the press shots unfortunately.

The standard lights have fairly square DRL's and halogen indicator bulbs. If you want the nice looking lights with the current BMW family look you have to add the Icon Adaptive LED Headlamps which are over 1000GBP.

Having owned my 2008 630i Convertible for just over 2 years I'm now considering changing.

An M6 convertible has caught my eye.

What would the increased running costs be?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/bmw/m6/bmw-m6-5-0-v10-smg-convertible/5750107

So far my 630i has cost me £800 a time for tyres, £300-£400 servicing at an independent specialist, average MPG of 27.

Mileage is around 12k a year.

Also looking at E400's although I think they may feel a step down. Pay has increased around £6k in the last few years so got a few quid extra to spend :)

So they'll be the lights 99% of them come with as nobody ever specs upgraded lights once you get either LED or Xenon as standard :(

Certainly in the UK that'll be the case. Thankfully in the US they're part of the Premium pack which lots of people spec as it's the only way to get SiriusXM.

Any major concerns for the engines?

Yes.

Honestly I have no idea who would buy one now at the age they are without the protection of the cast iron BMW warranty, which is now very expensive on these.

Ask PMKeates on here about his £22,000 warranty claim only a couple of months ago.

This car is insane how quick it is. Not really threw it around yet but it doesn't really need to. Really nice and comfortable and smooth when you want. Then very quick when you press M button and use manual mode. The shift lights come in handy !

Only thing I don't like is the dipped lights don't seem to go very far.

How much is the warranty on them now?

Are engine faults common then?

The engines should be ok apart from the rod bearings which is around 15 hours work or less, these can let go without warning so you could replace them as a preventative measure.

The actuators can develop a fault, but they can be fixed for £200 or so if you replace the gears.

Whilst that's an awful lot of car for the money, the running costs are insane and the engines and gearboxs blow up, you would need a warranty which you can't get.

I concur

Yesterday I found the button that adjusts the side bolsters, is this a standard feature of the seats in the M3, or is it part of an option?
