Absolutely not, keeping this F10 for some time (especially as I bought the service pack just before its first service!), however I've definitely found my next car, just have to wait until the LCI

Ditto, I'll be keeping my F10 until the LCI but definitely want a G30/1, after seeing one in the flesh. It's just lovely

How long after the F10 did the LCI release? Was it 3 years? Which would be ideal for me :p

Never mind the SMG issues, the V10 engines which are known for eating up their big ends is a much bigger worry.

Yes as much as I'd love one, buying newer and from a dealership to have warranty is so important on the V10 as they can be delicate and the bills they throw tend to be huge.

Why I stick with the E46, engines, gear boxes are easy to come by should they break without costing a fortune.

Unfortunately BMW only gave my local dealer a 520d, but it's still a fantastic car. The damping and ride are sublime, even in Sport mode and 19" RFTs. Certainly a step up from the F10. Interior is lovely, and gesture control is fun if a bit gimmicky. Comfort seats are excellent with nice stitching in the leather (forgot pics). Touchscreen is useful and the new screen seems noticeably bigger. The iPad on the dash really isn't that bad, and it allows for a lower, sloping dash, giving more light trough the front. You sit quite low as well so it all works very well.

So yeah, 520d is still very much a 4-cylinder with all of its downsides, but the G30 is a rather impressive piece of kit. Can't wait to drive one with a proper engine.

Looks MUCH better IRL. Very elegant.

Apologies for iPotato pics. Also forgot interior :( Had lovely dark brown leather.

two weeks with the f10 m5 now and done a few hundred miles in what seems like the wettest two weeks I ever seen.

Its a animal, part of me cant see how they can even retail these things they are ludicrously dangerous in this weather even when tootling around the traction light still comes on.

pulling away at roundabouts is fun too.

I wouldn't change it for the world though, its such a lovely place to be, the engine is sublime, a bit lacking in noise but it still has a nice sound.

It will be awesome in the summer, i must say the traction system is very good as sorting it out

Must stop accelerating in 3rd to lift off and drop to second in s5 mode.

The G30 530d has big square ones like a 550i used to have :(

The G30 520d has an exhaust configuration reserved for the 535 in F10 form :(

What about petrol models? Or are they dropping those due to lack of interest :(

G30 520d x-Drive Msport I took out today had trapezoid (lol Fox, square indeed) exhausts like the old 550i. I think only one side has the exhaust though (like Merc are doing).

While I'm here, obligatory (oh look, I was right, it's now a G marque) and, also, why is the new M5 the F90....?

It's odd isn't it. Also E lasted about 40 years yet we've moved to G after just 7 years of F.
