Am in the market for a 330d, preferably with the m performance kit.

Anything I need to look out for when thinking about this car/viewing?

Would you like a comprehensive answer based on 17 years of 330d life, or can you be more specific about what age / model year you are looking at :)

I'm guessing you mean an f30/f31 ?

Any particular reason you want the performance pack ? I imagine finding one with it installed will make it rather unicorn. I believe several garages were fitting them for about £1500.

Why don't you just get a 335d ?

Sorry, 2014 or newer.

I didn't realise the pack could be retro fitted. That will make finding a suitable base car a lot easier.

My Dad's been looking at replacing his E39 and found this locally, any opinions?

F10 528i SE - 2010
8 Speed Auto
Comfort seats with memory and lumbar support
Professional Navigation

54k miles with full BMW service history, and under BMW warranty until October 2017

Priced at £10500

Seem a reasonable price, or low enough to be suspicious?

Private sale? I wouldn't say suspiciously cheap. I was interested in one in mid 2015 which was a 528i BMW approved Sport variant for 15k. So a private sale SE spec 7 year old model with the less desirable (to the mass market) 528i for 10.5k doesn't seem suspicious...

Private sale yes, full BMW history though so will be able to verify any work with the dealer I assume, and MOT history checks out with only one advisory in 2014.

He does very little mileage and is running an E39 528i SE at the minute, so it'll still be a step up in terms of spec, and running costs I can't imagine being much different. Cant see to find any real issues with the F10 as a whole, or the specific engine/gearbox. Anyone have more info regarding this, or things to look out for when viewing?

Like the new 5. I've heard they are not releasing a 6 any more and the the 5 GT and 6 GC will be merging into a new 6 series car.

The high end coupe will become an 8 series

Probably going to change m current 6 series for the new M5 when it's out.

I spent all of 2016 watching the F10 M Sport market and there was nothing like a decent 528i M Sport with sensible miles for 15k let alone in 2015, the one you saw was a bargain!

10k is very cheap for a high spec sensible mileage F10. The 528 is not a sought after variant but even so that's still very cheap.

10500 is the cars trade book value. It's worth about 12ish privately I'd imagine. So if it's legit it sounds like a good buy.

It can only be retrofitted, it's a dealer fit aftermarket upgrade. It's not available from the factory.
