BMW and M Power Owners

Cheers. I'll give them another call and see what they say.

edit: They're now telling me that the reason why it's not connecting is because I don't have the remote services. I did specifically ask them whether I needed remote services to locate the car when I called them yesterday and the guy I spoke to said that I didn't.

edit 2: Paid for remote services and it's still unable to establish a connection. All the other remote services stuff is working but the location thing just won't work. Phoned BMW again and they're going to refund me the £60 for the remote services.

Can think of much nicer places to be for an equivalent cost.

For example?

Not really, especially as you need to drive to work in something else to swap cars every day. For a business tool an M3 seems completely bizarre.

For most of those 20k business miles it's the same place to be as a 320d and thus not as nice a place to be as a 520d.

No, I don't have to drive to work to pick it up, I drive straight from home to client.

I have never seen a normal 3/4 series with those seats and a new 440i is more expensive in depreciation over 3 years and 60k miles for a worse car...

I don't like the 5 series... next option would be a 6 and their depreciation is too high. Still not as comfortable as the M4 competition pack seats.

Told you wine was a better option!

Remote Services includes Vehicle Finder (the bit you need).

You know those seats are the same in the 5 and 6 M Multifunction Seats.

M5 & M6 seats look the same as standard M4...

... but 5/6 M-Sport are different unless I am missing something.

These are the comp pack seats:

Very similar to the standard M4, but that little bit better even. Best I've found and the 2017 C63AMG seats are quite nice...

You can get a new 340i for just over 30k. You'd lose far less than an M3.

This all sounds a bit fantasy to me, it's a very unusual and odd way of going about things. Why would a firm buy a contractor a work use only M3?

Why would you want an M3 on your drive you can't touch unless you are working?

Does anyone know if you can get the M3 style sport seats in the M2 as an option?

All the M2s I've seen on Pistonheads seem to have the same black with blue steering and standard looking seats (like straight out of a normal 2 series).

I guarantee you there is more to this than what's been posted on here. Like you say, in the real world this would never happen.

When I looked at them the two was pretty heavily restricted in terms of available options so I'd go with no.

100 mile 2017 M4 - £45k ex vat - couple of vat qualifying end of financial year deals
In 3 years and 60k miles, going by current 2014 models of similar mileage and competition pack holding a slightly higher value - that will still be worth £37-40k retail, so £33-35k trade / part-ex. That's a wonderfully low depreciation for such a car, only thanks to the great deals flying around at the moment though.
£10-12k depreciation.

There appear to be a good few vat-qualifying 440i doing the rounds... cheapest are £32k ex-vat.
In 3 years and 60k miles, going by similar stats of 435i - that will be worth about £20-22k retail, so give or take £17-19k trade/px
£13-15k depreciation.

No, you can't... that's one thing that pushed me towards the M4 - that and the extra torque.

Like you say, there is more to it than I'm willing to divulge - but what I've shared is truthful.

Erm?

Brand new factory order 440i M sport starts at about 27500 plus vat.

Surely you've looked into new pricing before making a decision...

Oh yes i am mistaken, i must have meant the 420i. I get easily confused with all these BMW models...

No of course i don't mean the 420i.

Why are you going on about the list price? You don't pay list price. There are discounts of circa 10k on the 440.

How have you got this close to buying a 45 grand car without realising that?! :p

Re the M5. £30k is actually about right for that age and mileage. Maybe a shade under. £27.5? LOL, just no.

So a shade under is fine, but 92% of that value is 'LOL, just no'.

Seems like weird logic. 8% could be the fluctuation on whether it has certain options or not, not exactly a crazy variation. Besides, it's WBAC, there's their cut to consider, too.

It's not about the physical calculations, its what the brain interprets as a a fair price, and "too god to be true". Seeing a 4 year old M5 at £27.5 would scream danger to most, but £30k is far more representative.

CiC/ Lci e9x Business Nav - other than the larger higher res screen and 3d maps (Postcode entry i believe can be updated if it isn't already there?), what specifically is "lost" on a car with usb audio, Bluetooth etc and how does it impact on the interface with the rest of the car? I've quite honestly never seen one working
