BMW and M Power Owners

The term M-Lite has been made up by owners. Someone on pistonheads posted a great photo of Alan Partridge with a caption about M lites which kinda summed it up a bit :D

Pft he's a Lexus driver, what does he know?! Can't find this photo though, really want to see it now!

I had some time this morning to try out the G3x infotainment system. The voice control system has improved immensely and I think it's good enough to replace the iDrive wheel, touch screen, buttons, the touch hand writing and gesture control.
I can say 'Navigate to Tesco Warwick' and it sets it up, or say 'Play Calvin Harris' and all of his songs on my USB stick are listed on the screen and start playing - nice :)

The level of kit on a standard G30/31 M Sport is really impressive - your car looks great!

On the F11 you had to tick quite a few boxes to get it to the same sort of level so this is very un-germanic of them giving you so much standard spec :p

Does anyone know if the E89 Z4 35iS has coasting? I assume it has normal stop/start but does it coast on lift off aswell? Really great feature IMO, every little helps and my commute has a lot of nice downhill sections.

It's the reason why I didn't need to go for any options :)
Now the options list contains stuff like remote control, display key, remote surround view - more new tech stuff which is great to talk about but doesn't add much value day-to-day :)

It definitely doesn’t have stop start and I’m fairly certain it doesn’t coast. Never experienced a sensation like that with mine, but not sure if it’s something you’re meant to notice.

It's going to be a fun day :)

Dunno what is more cringy, the term 'M-lite' or you thinking the M135i is equal to an M2. Dont get an M3, as you will be even more underwhelmed! :p
Maybe it was because the M2 was a manual, maybe I just don't "get" the M2. Either way I didn't say the M135i was equal to an M2, but that for me it did nothing my M135i didn't do. I'm sure on a track the M2 would leave the M135i behind, I can totally believe that, but for my personal tastes I was thoroughly underwhelmed by it, especially so given the hype it got. I'm pleased I didn't order one.

The M3 IMO is a different kettle of fish. It has a truly mighty engine (whether you like its character or not), it is more spacious (matters to me), has more configurability and the ability to adjust steering weight, suspension, throttle response, gear shifts all independently, still has 4 doors (which I need), and is available with interior colour choices that aren't black, which I don't like.

Coasting is a function enabled by the ZF8 gearbox, and I think the Z4 35iS has the DCT?

Please could let me know how you get on with the Spotify integration if you have an android phone?
