BMW and M Power Owners

Wow really? That is bizarre - the LEDs on our Mini are brighter than the Xenons on my F10 so it seems odd that the upgraded lighting option on the G30 would be worse than both?

It is strange, on the LCI 3 Series all of the LED options have reflector headlights. I noticed the newer X5 and 6 Series adaptive LEDs appear to be the same as the 3 Series with the upper and lower LED sections both using a reflector rather than a projector, the 5 series upper section as a small projector the bottom section that does the high beam is reflector.

My new one has Icon LED and I can tell you for sure they are better than HIDs. You effectively have two main beams with them, one which points straight ahead and one which is steerable (that's the one that provides the split beam function). With a clear road ahead you have both sets on shining straight ahead and it lights the road VERY well, and very far too. Much farther than HIDs

I had to go out last night to try it out and it's a really clever (and fast) system. The way it opens a black hole around cars in front or approaching cars is really funky!

It makes me especially sad as my old F10 had led indicators :(

The F10 LED lights are so rare, I bet they were specced on less than 1% of F10 LCI's! I've seen a few cars with them but they seem ultra rare.

I once drove a 430d xDrive with Xenons and it had the adaptive split beam function, so there must be a way of it working without LED too. I looked at the lights and assumed there must be some sort of sliding shutter over the lens.

F10 LCI Adaptive Xenons do this too. So the extra light you are seeing is likely a function of the anti dazzle system not the fact it's LED.

I don't think that they are doubled up like the LED version though? I know that the adaptive xenons do the clever beam splitting thing, but do the have the "extra" non-steering main beam too?

Anyway, from my point of view the LED lights give better visibility than the HID, which was my main point.

Are you turning them on ? Lower button on the end of the indicator stalk.
Damnit will have to check my car now you've put some doubt in my head.

It doesn't appear to beam split (just turns off high beam entirely when a car is coming) when the green headlight symbol with the A in it is showing on the dash.

But is that the top or bottom button on the end of the indicator stalk?

My 135i will also be going in a couple of months. Rear passenger space has always been tight, very tight, given im 6f 3 and have my seat as far back as it will go. Managed to put up with it as my 3 year olds car seat is put behind the passengers side. The pending new family arrival has forced me to rethink things, and its just not a family car, boot is to small as well.

Test driving a few new cars on Friday. 340i, S4 and S5 Sportback.

I must say in the year and a half ive had the 135i its been faultless, well other then all my online services going which I never bloody sorted. The engine is fantastic and ill be genuinely gutted when it goes.

I've had my M135 almost a year now and can't think of anything I want to replace it with yet that provides the same power/fun/comfort/tech, besides an M2, but I don't want to spend that much on a car as I'm moving house.

Brilliant little car, I don't think you can bash it for being too small for a family/rear leg room as it's clearly a 1 series :p

Was a bit slippy getting off the estate! Main roads fine though. I was nearly tempted to get the bike out as I don’t fancy getting stuck, last time I was stranded for 7hrs when the floods hit.

Yeah same. We had about 3" of snow and it was easy to spin with the torque of the edrive. Took it easy and no bother at all :)

Congrats @Havana_UK, what a beautiful car!

I'm in a similar boat. I absolutely love the car and I can't think of anything that comes close to it for overall value. However, I think the next logical step will either be a Motech M140i (if they're still being produced) or an M2, but the house move is higher up the priority list at the moment :)

I drove the M2 and tbh was left completely underwhelmed by it. I really didn't feel it gave me anything that the M135i didn't, plus (for me) there was the significant compromise of losing 2 doors. I'd decided some time ago that the only cars I could see myself replacing the M135i with was another one (or M140i), or an M3. Either would have been AUC (I only bought the M135i new originally because firstly the deals were so good, and secondly I wanted an LCI car), and I just felt I couldn't bring myself to replace what was a perfectly good car, albeit with a lot of miles on it, for something the same but just more expensive (albeit with fewer miles on).

Thanks, I love it! Can hardly wait to drive it each day :)
