BMW and M Power Owners

I'm could swear that they are not gran coupes as they are a bit more bulky looking (and i think have gran coupe written on the back?)

I will have to take a photo!

(i expect it is a gran coupe)

I had BMW do a oil+filter change and MOT, All is good until 3 miles out the building and the cars asking for +1L of oil.. It was 4/5 when I took it in, Now it's 1/5 immediately after a service

So i've posted the a question on M3 cutters but i figured i'd do it here too.

Wondering if you guys can shed some light on this. Yesterday I accelerated quite hard and had a Wierd judder in the mid-range. It was a bit of a kangarooing type judder. Is this the first sign of actuator trouble? Someone suggested its a coil pack and i'm going to try and get it booked in on sat morning to be looked at, last night though power died a little while i was going onto a roundabout which is obviously quite dangerous. Its got an AUC warranty, what does that cover?

What speed ? I’ve had it at low engine speeds but was ages ago now and not returned.

Did it have the battery cable to fuse box (behind glovebox) recall last year ?

Pretty low speeds, maybe upto 30mph. I checked on the recall, and as its a 13 plate it doesn't need doing (although i wouldnt be surprised if it did at somepoint). It seems to be only when setting off, and isnt that often which is why its a bit odd. I'd have thought that an issue would eb there all the time.

Has been examples of hesitation and jerky cars on Tesco 99 which goes away on another fuel.

The Ionisation knock detection technology may not like some fuels. But it may also be a sign of throtttle actuators (plastic cog wear)

The glovebox power cable is definitely one to get BMW to check though.

No i only use shell, none of the ****** supermarket stuff goes in my car. I've checked on the recall and its not affected, i'm kind of hoping it is actuator related as i know thats covered.

Letter came today; 3 points and fixed £100 fine. So, I don't have to beg to keep my license which is a bonus, but still think the 340i has to go after Germany in September :(

It could be anything tbh. Did it throw a check engine light? How many times has it done it?

Edit: when you say "power died" do you actually mean the car suffered an electrical failure or just that the engine went into limp mode and was sluggish

Lots of Chinese makers doing these on eBay etc but mine is by Erisin who seemed to be the only ones at the time that used OEM style buttons so it all looked factory finish instead of aftermarket in the centre console. I paid £260 odd for it. I only use it for Spotify and Waze really along with Clipboard sync between all my devices so I can send snippets, text and stuff between them.
I’m very tempted by the Erisin for my e38 but most sellers refer to the HVAC system in the e38 behind the radio, thus it won’t fit.

I’m not sure if mine has HVAC or not ,I’m assuming it’s some kind of option as I’m advised to check to see if it’s there...

I’ve also read that they won’t work with DSP systems but at least on that score I’m ok as I don’t have DSP.

It just hindered and the revs didn't change. No lights have popped up, but it's very intermittent. It's a dct BTW. I've got it booked in but not till late September as I need a courtesy car (which costs 12 quid a day ) but I might have to knock it back a bit anyway as I won't be able to pick my daughter up from school in time. Strangley no problems tonight, although there's a small amount of judder for the first few minutes when it's cold but I think that might be normal. I don't know if having the throttle to sports plus might be exagarating it.

HVAC is just the name for the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning system in the car. You have HVAC if you have a heater.
