Yes just buy touch up kits, find Stone chips are easy to repair just takes time and patience.

Car has a few to sort and maybe a job for weekend.

Looking good. Amazing to think it can seat 4 in comfort, with luggage and in the right conditions, hit 204mph.

What are people's thoughts on the M140i? Is there anything i should be looking out for buying used (other than the exhaust rattle i've read about)? Any 'red flags' i should be aware of? I have a 2018, 15k one in my sights.

The new m135i is a large step up in interior quality imo. Unless you're looking specifically because of the rwd b58 i6 in the old m140i. Ofc you'd then have to deal with the hideous front of the m135i. Yucky.

If they come back after washing car you did not do it correct.

Did my SVR, never come back, did the Abarth and rushed it, they come back, did it again properly and never come back, same for Honda never returned, but you have to prep surface well and then do several coats building it up and then putting lacquer on top will help ensure it gets locked in but in some colours the lacquer turns a great job into not so great.

It's also double his budget?

Though a 2018 for 15k sounds far too cheap.

EVO Magazine didn't give the M340i a glowing report in the handling/driver appeal department. I haven't managed to find another review that agrees with them.
