BMW and M Power Owners

Snap! Any interior shots? I wasn’t really looking for one when I got mine but it’s fully loaded and snapped it up after a test drive. Shame not many people spec them properly.
Some more pics here. Loving it so far - the ride is a bit harsh compared to my old X3 (I'm guessing mainly due to the wheels it has), but I really don't mind that at all, I like to be able to feel the road. (Excuse the mess on the drive - I'm having a bathroom refurb at the mo!)

Still find it funny you have to take off seatbelt in the front to left people in the back doors
The way I look at it, is that my other choice was going to be another Mini Cooper S (had one a few years ago), but then I'd have to even get out of the car to let someone in the back. :)

Ah it’s a facelift too; looks a good spec. Only missing ACC and the roof? Anyway I love mine and yes the ride is horrendous. Enjoy :D

I almost never carry fronts passengers and strangled a colleague doing this last week. Oopsie :o

Yes pretty well specced, had a look at a few at my local dealer, but spotted this one at another near-ish dealer. Glad I got it in time for lockdown or it would have been a bit of a pain not having two cars for us.

was thinking the absence of B pillars reminds me of that similar visionary design the
Renault Avantime - 2003
it had the cabin too ... some design flare .... too many staid designs now. - anyone had one ?

I really like the i3, but the Wife doesn't, therefore at the moment I don't get to have one. Want to go electric with my next car so in a couple of years she may have no choice :)

My M140i is in for an oil change today, they've just called and told me that the oil filter housing has failed so they've ordered a new one. He said that the manifold has to come off so sounds more than just a simple job.

£££££, how old is the M140 is it still under warranty?

Mine is in tomorrow for it's first 'service' (just an oil change at 10k miles).

Hoping it's a pretty straight forward job! Never had a service at a main dealer before.

Mine's also its first service, 18 month old and 13k miles. I've done way less mileage than anticipated, my PCP is for 15k a year!

Nope, I got the warning through the iDrive the other day. I barely pay attention to the little hint it gives you when you start it up.

Did you car have any other work done to it? I had a text the other day about recall and/or upgrades. Just had a voicemail to confirm my booking and the service, and also 're-working light quality enhancements'. Anyone have any idea what the latter is?

It had a rear light recall during PDI so the car was delayed, it might be that. From memory it was the torque settings being too tight from the factory which could cause the rear light clusters to crack.

ah ok. Just did a bit of googling and it seems to be something related to the rear lights. Surprised it took this long to inform me, as threads I was reading were dating back to Feb 19!

Friends,

Long time lurker and just joined up.

On my way home back from work the other day, I passed a garage that had a 2008 650i Sport for sale with the N62 4.8 engine. I've read a fair bit through this topic from some posts a couple of years ago.

Is the consensus still the same; stay away from these engines? I popped into the garage and the chap said it would have a 1 year RAC warranty on it...
It has done 53,500 miles, last serviced at 49,000 miles.

Yours,
Ralf

2 years ago i was looking at the possibility of buying either a 645 or a 650. I can't remember how many i looked at and test drove, but certainly more than 5. Every single one them had smokey exhausts on a cold start up. If you have read enough about them, you will know that smoke is a tell tail sign of the engine needing the valves re-seated.
That's why 645's and 650's are as cheap as they are. The cost of re-valving and re-seating a V8 is eye watering.
In the end i actually ended up buying a 635 Sport. A much better buy, lovely smooth straight six diesel, more than enough power, cheaper to insure and much cheaper road tax.
