BMW and M Power Owners

No not yet, I'm not sure what I'm going to go for next. The M140i is great but from having one I'm a bit worried about my driving license with it, I found I was quite often going 120 on the M25 without realising it.

Interesting looking at F31 330d on Autotrader and prices are seemingly higher and not many models about. WBAC aren't even willing to offer a valuation and Motorway are offering pretty much what I paid for it (purchase from BMW main dealer 4 months ago).

Not really stating for any other reason than it appears an interesting side effect of the lockdown/pandemic. It does present an opportunity to those looking to shift a car due to financial difficulties at the moment though.

I've been looking at F31 330d and they seem to sit around £15k for what I'd be after. I've only started looking so not sure what is a fair price for a 7 year old car really.

I keep looking at F11 and F31 but I'm not sure what is the best value for money and I prefer the look of the F10 rear as the F11 rear seems a bit blobby at the rear. Much prefer the interior of the 5 but parking in the street or the small drive at the house might be an issue.

It's a 1 series, so no, you didn't :p
An M140i will hit 120mph without really trying. I’m sure what was really meant was simply that a little too long on the throttle without thinking about it quickly gets you well beyond license losing territory and very much into potential jail time!

You're very aware of the speed though as it's hardly the most refined of cars BMW have ever made is it? :p

As I said, this is why I’d have phrased it “without thinking” rather than “without realising”. Either way it’s very easy to do!

:p it reminded me of an A-10 Warthog where they built the engine/gun and then wrapped a car/plane around it

I was in the same boat about 3 years ago, and although I was looking at older cars the same rules still apply.

I went to BMW in Malton to look at an F31 and ended up leaving after test driving and putting a deposit down on an F11. The main reason was the spec, I paid £500 more for the F11 and it was a year older with 5,000 more miles on it but the standard spec came with so much more. The interior in the F30 / F31 is horrible too, there are about 4 different coloured pieces of plastic trim and all of them crack and creak, I just couldn't live with that.

I can think of nothing an F31 does that an F11 doesn't do better*. It's just a much better car. Fundamentally the F31 is a decent car, the tech and mechanics are very much the same as the F11, but there is just something a bit nasty about them especially inside.

*Yes I can, it doesn't have a ripoff warranty cost like the F11 does.

I've only ever been in a F30 whilst quite drunk so can't really take much away from that, same goes for an F15 X5.

I did get a shot of an E70 with 3.0 diesel and 8 speed auto which felt ridiculously smooth and effortless compared to my old Astra.

Having a browse of AT these two jump out at me

MOT history showing tyres being down to the limit last year but they've fitted Eagle F1s so can't complain at that and it's also one owner.

No issues of poor maintenance on the MOT history of that. I can't see number of owners listed but I may just be tired.

Just picked this up:
