BMW and M Power Owners

How is that worth 12k
Sums it up for me.

Just my opinion but old BMWs still look absolutely fine when totally stock and in a stronger colour than that, but in that state with black wheels it just looks like a banger IMO.

Its also a manual shifter, not sure if you missed that or whether you are seeking that, but if it is for your wife that seems an odd choice unless she is a girl racer.

Are auto boxes ok on a BMW of this age? I seem to avoid them after having a Audi A4

Seems to be the going rate. Not really worth it I know but that's the prices these days
The problem that you have with this car is that it is a desirable model, and late in its production life. This leads to it looking really old for the price.

Absolutely not the same thing, appreciated, but the oldest of the same car are worth hardly anything, there is a very leggy 2007 at BCA with a guide of under £2k - sums it up a bit?

What what I've seen older than 2010 they do plummeting price. But I would prefer something a little newer and less millage, that's where the prices are holding around 10-14k

What is it you think spending the extra will get you?

I don't think there is much difference between 2009 and say 2012, both are old cars now and equally likely to be problematic. The cars you are looking at are not new enough for the age to bring you appreciably better reliability, I don't think.

To be honest I'd buy something else. No idea what, perhaps something with a less appealing badge. There isn't anything particularly prestigious about a two generation old white 3 series with black wheels anyway.

The engine is about the only really good thing left about those now but sadly it's too old to be euro 6 compliant.

BMW autos (ZF) have been very good for 20+ years. I think Audi used to use (maybe still do?) terrible CVT autos, especially in the old ones from the 00s?

I did cross autos off the list. But if there good then I'll add them back. Never had a auto so it's not something I looked for anyway.

Try telling the wife to get something else :D

If it was my I would just get a golf or something similar. But that's what she wants.

Whatever we get will be high priced and probably not worth that cash by we have no car at the moment. The old car got stolen :(

If you're getting a payout, make sure you get a decent lump out of them on the basis of your cost to replace as no doubt their 'market value' will be for a normal market condition, not the weird inflated market we're in now.

I've already been paid out. Wasn't to happy about what I got but 2 weeks of back and forth got me £500 more than the offer. Think I should have got £10,500 but got £9,500 so I'm adding funds to get something better. I did have a 2012 A4 s-line so I has to be a car of similar caliber or her indoors won't be happy. She has to pop to the shops with a little style

christ, maybe i should sell you my 2010 e92 325D :D

I'll knock 33% off that one above and even get the wheels refurbed for you

Not known of any Audi having a CVT gearbox unless it was in the 1990's, they are either DCT or ZF automatics. The DCT one I had in my A4 was very good..

'multitronic' branded cars are CVT aren't they? Which has been used in all sorts of Audi's throughout the 2000s and 2010s afaik?
