I have AA homestart so not too worried about breakdown cover
Does that £522 not include the breakdown cover? You should check as I think it does and if it does, it'll be about £80 cheaper without it.

Good spot I hadn't checked, it's £440 without breakdown coverDoes that £522 not include the breakdown cover? You should check as I think it does and if it does, it'll be about £80 cheaper without it.
M340i is coming up to 3 years old so I've had the first warranty letter. Having a look online and I can't seem to work out the difference between Comprehensive Warranty and Named Component Warranty - can anyone shed any details?
Comprehensive is £707/year with no excess, Named Component is £596/year with no excess.

Yeh I'm quite happy with that, according to BMW it's "just a 3 series"! Can understand why Fox et others get frustrated that 5/6/7/8 series are much more expensive when they share a lot of components underneath! That's eye-wateringly... cheap!
Comprehensive 100%.

I think the breakdown cover also includes a replacement car if they can't fix itDoes that £522 not include the breakdown cover? You should check as I think it does and if it does, it'll be about £80 cheaper without it.
Plus they will turn up on a flat bed to recover the car so the auto boxes don't have an issue
I just saw what I think was a new 5 series today. Whatever it was, it had the big beaver teeth front grill which didn't leave any space for the number plate at the bottom. So the number plate was plastered right across the middle of the grill... The car looked bad enough but the number plate across the grill took it to new levels of awfulness. I don't know what BMW were on when they designed their latest cars!
UK front licence plate rules are very different to the continent where some front plates are much smaller or even non-existent. Old Alfa's like the 155 and 156 also had the same issue.

sounds more like a 4 series or an m3? New 5 series isn't out yet.
the m3/4 and 4 series still have by far the biggest grill of any BMW though, but very surprised if you've managed to go 2.5 years without seeing one!
All opinions expressed are my own. I certainly don’t expect any/ every one to agree with them! I’ve got black wheels on my car - the hate expressed was extensiveNot so sure about that as I have one sitting on my driveway
Other than Switzerland and Italy, who have smaller plates on the front, all of Europe has standard sizes front and backUK front licence plate rules are very different to the continent where some front plates are much smaller or even non-existent.
