After posting about 3-series leather options - on Autotrader seems (merino) leather is very rare, especially for cars I'd consider;
maybe the option was also partly a victim of covid though, or UK buyers don't spec it,
alcantara seems more common, never tried it, but, too, looks more breathable/supple than dakota/sensa I have.
I'd like to do this on the 840i, but it'll cost at least £1200 and the P Zero RFT's don't seem too bad.
Would like to try a back to back comparison.
Chances are it's a faulty TPMS Sensor. It's just finding out which one. As long as you've checked your pressures manually and they're fine I'd carry on my journey.I am having an issue with the bmw tire pressure monitore system.
I got the following error message:
bmw flat tyre monitor failure(rpa failure) unable to detect a possible flat tire check tire pressure manually. possible to continue journey. have the problem checked by your bmw service partner
I went and checked the tyre pressure last night, they seemed fine and I reset it. The error message popped up again this morning. I checked the tyres again (no change overnight) and reset it. It has stayed green this time.
How concerned should I be by this?
The wider context is we are currently in France. Yesterday I drove for about 6hrs down to bordeaux. I was driving fast on a hot day, and I though that may have messed with the sensors. Tomorrow we are driving to bilbao, and then after a few days in Spain we are gradually making our way back through France to get the dieppe ferry. I would expect having to deal with a BMW garage in france/Spain will be a bit of a nightmare, but at the same time I am have many hours of driving my family on motorways, and I want to be safe.
Thank you, that is somewhat reassuring! I'm going to keep checking the tire pressure as we go, and ease off a little bit on the speed.Chances are it's a faulty TPMS Sensor. It's just finding out which one. As long as you've checked your pressures manually and they're fine I'd carry on my journey.
It's normally on the bell of the disc.Do OEM brake discs on F22 M240i have wear indicators or a minimum thickness stamped on/recommended somewhere?
I'm about to replace front and back brake pads. The discs are all lipped no more than 1mm (by feel). If there's a defined minimum thickness, I'll try to borrow a vernier caliper to measure them.
You've already confirmed there's no issue with your tire pressure. Why would you then keep checking it and adjust your driving style?Thank you, that is somewhat reassuring! I'm going to keep checking the tire pressure as we go, and ease off a little bit on the speed.
Suspect my battery is on the way out. 8 years old and the stop/start now only remains ‘stopped’ for 10-20 seconds before the engine restarts with only the ICE and air con on, no high load items like the heated seats. I believe if I want to replace it I can’t program the car myself for the new battery?
Will see what happens without the aircon.I'd expect start stop to not work at all if the battery was failing. It seems more likely that it's the air conditioning that is requesting the engine at the moment. It can't run at all with the engine off and therefore will restart if the cabin temperature requires it.
