Because it is disconcerting to drive with warning messages popping up an a dashboard full of warning lights! You've already confirmed there's no issue with your tire pressure. Why would you then keep checking it and adjust your driving style?
Interesting that it has the Competition wheels.

I don't believe that there is anything dangerously wrong with the car, but it is hard to have 100% confidence.
Re checking the tire pressure, I didn't mean that I will be checking the pressure of hot tyres in the middle of a journey, but it does seem prudent to check the pressure again before I start a long drive. It certainly does wonders for my paranoia!
The problems have advanced a bit since yesterday. I'm now getting messages about ABS:
bmw driving stabilisation continue journey at moderate speed
I suspect this is all linked to the same sensor issue. It does mean that the dash now has loads of warning lights lit up.
Date of first reg January 2014, so I suspect you have nailed it.I agree with you. I am not sure why people keep mentioning the tyre pressure sensors as I do not believe your car has them fitted - I am going to guess that this car is built before April 2014?
There are two types of tyre pressure monitoring system on a BMW - one uses tyre pressure sensors to measure actual tyre pressure. This is fitted to most cars built after 2014 and a few built before then. But older cars (and a few newer ones) have a different system where the pressure of the tyre cannot be measured, instead it uses the ABS/Stability Control wheel speed sensors to estimate whether there is a tyre pressure loss. If there is a fault in this system then it won't be able to work out if you have a flat tyre or not (Which is what the original error said) and you'll also have other issues with things like the ABS and the Stability Control.
I have bmw roadside assistance
Yes, I think just drivetrain these daysIs this because you also have the BMW warranty?
I actually think the regular wheels suit it better, I can't say I've seen an original M2 with the Comp wheels - though I don't doubt people swap them. I do see CS wheels on them (though most are replica ones).
Not really considering the wheels are all interchangeable I see plenty of regular M2’s on the Comp and CS wheels the latter been my favourite design but the Comp wheels are still visually more appealing than regular wheels, they are genuine too.
What do you think of the car?
OG is electric rack, I read a lot of complaints before I bought mine about the steering lacking feel. I think it's quite good for an electric rack, but I don't have many comparison points aside from 4WD Audi's which are probably the worst!Well I went for a random drive yesterday evening, so that is a good sign. Whereas the newer M2 I was loathed to drive it back to BMW lol.
Early days but I like it so far, it is pretty harsh on badly rutted roads whereas the newer M2 was more compliant, but on average to good roads it rides fine and has a really direct feeling, front end is great, as was the new M2 but this older one just has so much more feel, not sure if the OG is on hydraulic rack or not, but the wheel though still a bit thick feels not as thick as the one in new M2 which is nicer. Shall probably get the wheel re-trimmed in suede though.
I am finding the Sport + MDM mode still too interfering though, whereas the newer M2 had the 10 stage TC which seemed less intrusive which means the only option in the older one is probably DSC OFF, but will learn the car more before we go there or look to see if its possible to flash a later version of DSC to the car.
Still in the short time I had the new M2 and the older M2 both inspire confidence, which is a trait of a good chassis.
I hear good thinks about the GTS map, not sure if that can be done on a manual or not though.Well I went for a random drive yesterday evening, so that is a good sign. Whereas the newer M2 I was loathed to drive it back to BMW lol.

Yeah it does the TC etc. I’d have it for my M3 but worries about the warranty. For the DCT it’s meant to make huge improvements.Supposedly according to the coder who is gonna do my apple car play he said if I wish the car could still have GTS steering, differential etc and I am guessing MDM/Traction be part of that too?
I prefer the originals by a large margin. The concaveness is just cool.I actually think the regular wheels suit it better, I can't say I've seen an original M2 with the Comp wheels - though I don't doubt people swap them. I do see CS wheels on them (though most are replica ones).
