BMW and M Power Owners

I'd like to do this on the 840i, but it'll cost at least £1200 :o and the P Zero RFT's don't seem too bad.

Would like to try a back to back comparison.

I had the PZero RFTs on the M340i from new until I changed them earlier this year, the PS4S are definately nicer, but the PZeros didn't seem that bad until the miles were building up (19-20k or so).

When you say nicer do you mean a more plush ride too?

Unless hes done significant mileage in the 2 weeks i wouldnt be stressing.

What difference does that make? He replaced the back tyres 2 weeks ago, not the front tyres. My point is that I wouldn't get too annoyed about now having to replace the front ones as it was probably a good idea to do it anyway.

Well hes saying hes got to replace 2, you said replace all 4.
What you seem to have meant is retrospectively he should have replaced all 4, not replace all 4 now.

How sensitive are the XDrive systems?

On the F3X platform owner groups you see people talking like running a pair of new tyres rather than four will blow your transfer case to bits before you make it to the end of the road and I don't really recall seeing similar levels of anxiety amongst other brands running four wheel drive systems.

What do folk here think about runflats vs non ?
I've got RFTs on my 3er and can't say I noticed any bad feeling from them compared to previous cars, but I haven't tried normal tyres on this one at all. They've saved me from the hassle of two motorway punctures over the years so reluctant to change for a minor improvement in feel/handling.

Standard M2 manual with comp wheels, also a deal has been done, so shall be collecting it soon. :)

Also had this for weekend:

Looks better in flesh and easy to drive though definetely feels bigger than older M2’s and the whole car feels rubbery hard to explain but it’s not raw at all not even on track mode, it’s left me cold and for anyone who likes an M car to somewhat feel raw and edgy they won’t enjoy this but anyone looking for a daily nice driver well it’s a very rounded car but not for me.

I’ve gone with original M2 for this exact reason it sounds so superior but feels more direct, connected and raw. Not complaint though was great to get it for so long. :)
The new M2 is built on an M4 platform isn’t it? that’ll be why.

I used to hear exactly the same thing back in the days of my Audi S3/RS4.

Runflats are awful.

You might find this interesting:

Quite hard to say, I didn't have any issues with the PZeros, but it felt like they were starting to tramline a bit more, and the drive wasn't as comfortable so just changing made this better anyway, if anything it's probably made the ride slightly softer than when I had it from new.

If the PZeros had been bad right from the start I would have changed sooner, but I was pleasantly suprised (and not spending another 1K or so when not required also helped).

I changed from Pirelli Cinturato Run flats and they weren't bad really handling wise but the ride was stiff and the road noise was quite loud even on smooth surfaces. I changed all 4 to the MPS5 and handling has improved as well as the ride being much smoother, less harsh and crash and road noise is also much lower.
