BMW and M Power Owners

I do around 8000 a year and never Motorolas so a diesel is no good really
Yeah it's not right for everyone but I typically only do long journeys.

Have you thought about the 330e?

If a lot of your journeys are short, you could do most of them on battery power alone if you have the ability to charge at home :-)

330e probably not ideal if there are already concerns about a 3 series boot space being adequate, given the 330e boot can barely fit a can of coke :p

Did you haggle to get the price down?
Basically told him 24k was all I was spending and to do what he needed to to make it work.
I don’t think I would have got that price if it wasn’t for this new incentive of £700 towards deposit which has only been available on used cars for 2 months (allegedly) so the way I had to go around it was to take out £10k hp finance to get the discount and pay it straight off next month with a £70 fee, the rest of the cost was wavered at managers discretion.

Also not sure what package does what, so I’m just reading about this technology package it’s got and it has everything the internet says apart from this key that shows information on it (from what I saw when he gave me them) is this a standard for the 3 series or only higher spec models. If it’s a standard I’ll be chasing them down for it that’s all.

The salesman at my local main dealer mentioned 1K PCP incentive, wonder if that's PC & HP - I need to check this weekend if I can get in there

They stopped offering that key years ago, it was never available on the 3 Series.

The digital key on the 3 series is a credit card style key.

Very nice, still loving mine. You got a decent spec there as well and in the best colour (I'm biased). I reckon that would have been a £75-£80k car when new. Out of interest how much had it lost approx when you bought it please?
Cheers, they are great beasts, especailly in Tanzanite. You have a G05?

44 for this one, which is a steal compared to the rest on the market from AUC.

Have had a bit of a re-think of my plans. Was going to see my PCP out on my 128ti (Dec 2024) then get a new purple M240i. The value of my 128ti has dropped from around 26k to just over 20k in just 6 months so it looks like there will be no equity if I wait it out, I can at least get a couple of grand if I sell it now. Having just got a new job I'm in a position to do the M240i now but it's so much money, I decided I'd rather go to the Maldives and Hawaii and go for a second hand one. Having a quick look around I spotted the convertible which I really like the look of, think it will do me for a couple of years. Looks like 2020 is the latest and they are all under 20k. Anything I should know about / look out for on one?

Idly glancing over a few <£10k BMWs, and I keep seeing a few F20 1 series that look OK for the money and mileage (example: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202308170922060). I've checked Wiki and it suggests the F20 comes with the ZF8 gearbox which would be lovely if true. I'm aware these are small, boring hatchbacks, but that's fine by me.

I've also noticed that a good few of these seem to be Japanese imports. Would there be any pitfalls in running an import? A few still have the km speedometer on which is no issue, a few now seem to have the dual-scale mile/km that you'd normally get in the UK - does this mean the dash has been swapped? If so, any worries around that (thinking along the lines of the car being clocked)?

While the engine is nicer and it'll be faster, it will seem like a big downgrade compared to your 128ti, which is based on the much newer platform.

I think I can do an android auto upgrade on it but will miss the ability to lock the car with my mobile. Not sure I'll be too bothered about anything else. There's a couple at a place around 50 miles from me so going to go have a look on Sunday.
