BMW and M Power Owners

Not made a massive difference to the e46, certainly not enough that I could pin it down - it's been hovering around freezing in the mornings for about the last month or so here.

My Z4 is getting on average 40 miles less out of a full tank since the weather dropped below 10 degrees. Anyone else started noticing the cold effect yet?

No but my new commute has dropped to 12mph average from 16mph average, with mpg going from 25 to 22 accordingly!

Bristol you are sucks.

Thanks for the oil suggestions, will grab some later.

5W-30 or 0W-30.
Doesn't make a difference.

FWIW, I have a mixture of TOTAL and Castrol in my car at the moment. Probably a mixture of 5W and 0W as well :o

I have Total 5-30w in mine, really surprised how much oil the car doesn't use, it has been months since I topped it up, at 3/4 right now

Kind of, only got 30 MPG out of my last tank (entire tank was motorway miles) but put that down to not driving like a granny for once. Am missing having a rear wiper with all of the condensation though.

Anyone got an e46 with the business tape/radio in, I want to add Bluetooth or Aux to it so I can have some of my music in the car...

Had to start leaving the 328 outside since the S15 robbed it's garage spot. Got to say it sucks balls, it's cold in the morning and takes absolutely ages to heat up, the demister doesn't work for **** either.
I don't understand why it's such a joke, I've replaced the thermostat and that made no difference to warmup time. Replaced the heater matrix so that isn't blocked, stripped and cleaned the heater valve unit, it wasn't even clogged up and operation was fine. I even replaced the climate unit.

Haven't noticed much of a drop in fuel economy yet, not really hugely cold at the moment but I imagine it'll drop a fair bit in the next few months. Currently sat at 20mpg which is purely driving around town and traffic.

When mine drops into the 20's I'll worry, its sat at 33 at the mo which is better than the 28 I was getting out of the 528 and the 24 I was getting out of the Cav...

Soooo... This is the first time I have ventured in here as I am not really a BMW fan. I do appreciate the cars but they just, on the whole, don't really do it for me, until I came across the M6.

Soooo... Tell me about the M6 Coupe. I dunno why but they have really grown on me. I originally was looking into the Lexus IS-F to replace the GS450H but then I spotted a couple of these and they can be had for less than £15K for an 05 Plate with FSH. I will say, its butt ugly though. The newer version looks fantastic but the older one lol. Whats with the silly sticky out boot? Anyway Even with the looks I am interested in the comfort, power, handling etc and would be looking at spending about 18-20K which for an £80K is a bargain.

From what I hear they fuel costs, brakes(Not sure if the CF Ones are available on this year) and tyres are high but I do very little mileage really but want something a bit.. Mad!

They are cheap to buy because few people want to tolerate the biblical running costs associated with them.

To be honest unless you are a big M car nut, which it doesn't sound like you are, then something like a 650i is probably a better choice, it'll be newer and whilst not exactly frugal at is at least better enough than the M6 by a sufficient margin that you can actually make a long trip in it without filling up twice. Gearbox is far less prone to expensive bills, too.

And lets face it, it's not as if you'll ever feel short changed by 'only' having a 4.8 litre V8 under the bonnet, is it?

Depends, is the bigger version supercharged?
If its not, then no, a 4.8 v8 would do the job...

Spec? Colour? Don't leave us hanging man :p

Wow, now that sounds nice. Pictures needed and thanks for not buying diesel.

Pictures as promised, excuse the darkness - incredibly dull here today :(

Absolutely loving it. The colour combination may not be to everyones taste, but i have always wanted the white with coral red leather - and now it is finally mine

I'm coming from previously having an E92 Coupe and E93 DCT Convertible - the ride feels a lot better IMO and economy (including tax costs) seems to have improved.

Has got the all important professional media with bluetooth streaming/connected drive and full black panel display, and I also got the M Performance black kidney grills fitted which i thought was a must!
