BMW and M Power Owners

I've bought several cars from BMW main dealers and have never had a good experience. Cooper and Sytner being the case in point. Sytner have got to be the worst company I have ever dealt with and after recent dealings I'm never using them again.
Does anyone have good experiences with dealers and if so, which ones? I'm planning an X3M or possibly an M3 Touring in the next couple of years but can't deal with Cooper or Sytner, who are unfortunately local to me in a 30 ish mile radius.

Worth mentioning this to be fair to them, my first main agent experience in some time.
I'm the process of drafting a letter, with the final straw being them putting over 100 miles onto my car to drive it to and from a supposed local bodyshop, who did a terrible job twice necessitating 3 trips there.

I really want my next car to be not a BMW but I am so used to them now, having had them for the last 10 years. Being able to play a DVD on the iDrive to keep the children quiet is really underrated. I've looked at other marques ICE to see if they also offer this but can't find anything concrete i.e. Porsche, Jag, Mercedes, Audi, etc.

I got the warranty renewal price from BMW for my 84k mile X5 40d.
Fully comp zero excess - £2314
£100 excess - £1699
£250 excess - £1267

Named Component zero excess - £1899
£100 excess - £1408
£250 excess - £1062

All include breakdown. I think I will either take my chances and run it for another year before selling or get a cheaper 3rd party warranty. BMW prices are a joke.

Failed safety control system, external temperature sensor unable to work out what the temperature was, key not being detected in the car, driver profile problems where it'd not be avaiable, would not apply or would reset all the settings. This was over 6 months and all required multiple visits not to be resolved (6 in total)
Ridiculous. Did they let you hand it back without any penalties or did you px it? On paper the X3M does everything but the reviews I read on issues people are having really puts me off.

I'm viewing an F80 M3 tomorrow locally at BMW, beyond the obvious things to look for is there anything I should be asking/checking? The car IMO is overpriced however I have taken some screenshots of similar AUC cars which are cheaper and printed them out and will take them in and use as examples of hopefully getting a better price.
I test drove 3 and all of them had very obvious interior rattles. If you go for it and it has any rattles, push the dealer to get them fixed. It's not something that used to bother me but it's become a real bugbear of mine.

Any F80 M3 owners had the Valve Cover Gasket issue?

Mine had white smoke coming out from the back of the engine bay under hard acceleration smelling like burnt rubber / plastic and has been diagnosed with this issue after spotting a small oil leak from the gasket. Dealer is quoting around 1k to fix which seems a bit much. Is there any permanent fix for this or just something to budget for?
That sounds horrendously expensive for a rocker cover gasket.

XM - one of the worst looking cars I've seen in a long time. Really surprised how badly it carried over from prototype to production. BMW's marketing is trying it's best. "the first bespoke M division car since the M1".

I could probably get the answer from Google, but has anyone on here owned a 6 series GC and fitted roof bars and a roof box to it? Specifically an M6 GC with the carbon roof.
