Thats not it resonating thats the brakes being lightly applied by design to keep the pads and disks dry when it raining, its activated by the windscreen wipers being on...
Really?
Not sure about that, it goes in time with the windscreen wiper speed and I'm pretty sure its due to the brake pedals location to the wiper motor. Quite a bit on the internet about it, think it was referred to as wiper pedal brake pulse or something similar.

But you gets carbon fibre roof
Slightly random couple of questions:
What is the correct rear tyre size for an E46 M3 Cabriolet? I looked at one last night with a friend (no it's not for me), the rear tyres looked too narrow. So much so that the rim was standing proud from the rim protector strip on the tyre sidewall, it just didn't look right.
Also the car had the SMG gearbox, is that gen SMG one to avoid or is it ok?
Thank you in advance guys/girls.

1. It currently has the 'traffic information' on the sat nav. Is this something that I will have to pay for going forward? It currently works but will this stop when the current subscription with the previous owner runs out? Or will it continue to work?
2. The database of hotels / points of interest etc - how does this update? Some info on it for local areas is out of date.
3. How can I update the maps?
You can update the maps. The dealer can do it for a couple hundred quid. Or you can get the DVD (assuming you have professional nav) for about £25 from the dealer (or download it), and get an code for it online for about £50.
If you have non HD based satnav, you can just download the updated discs and use them apparently.
You should be able to get the info you need from here : http://gpsunderground.com/forum/car-navi-system/car-gps-systems/bmw/
Don't know about if the traffic reports run out after the subscription. I didn't notice it on my 3 series when it turned 3 years old, but then I rarely used that aspect of the nav.

It's part of the map version.
You need an FSC code and a copy of the latest maps - the maps are about 14gb and I think the newest easily available version is 2014-1. You need the Premium CIC 2014-1 maps. You then activiate them with the FSC code.
You can buy the code from your local dealer, or you can buy it online for much less....
IIRC, you just insert the DVD's (you can also download them to save paying the dealer). There are 3 I think. So you load them up in order, and enter the FSC code when asked.
If you're buying the FSC code online, I think you need your VIN as each code is specific to the car. You just have to find a seller you can trust. When I was looking for my 335d, SIERAS5 seemed to be well recommended. But I never actually went through with it if I'm honest.
A quick look on the GPS underground site suggests that there is now an FSC code generator available. I haven't used it, and you would need to purchase a cable to connect to your car anyway, but might be worth a look. You should easily manage to get the cable for less than the cost of the code, if the generator works. And if you were interested, you could do some coding too.

Were they standard alloys? If so, it looks as though the owner has probably skimped on the tyres! What make were they, out of interest?
So.... tyre chat!
The runflats on the 335i I replaced with Goodyear Eagle F1's as per recommendations on here, and they were brilliant.
The runflats on the X6.... What should I be looking at rubber wise? I want to get some options and price them up so I know what I'm dealing with come replacement time - and I'm leaning towards ditching the runflats on this if the benefits are worthwhile as per the 335. 20" standard wheels that come with the Dynamic Pack.
