BMW and M Power Owners

I paid £341 in the end. Didn't have time to source my own oil as I was out the UK, as I am now and just went ahead with the filter too as £90 is nowt really and pointless cutting corners. Next service is 2,200 miles(!!!!) as the compooota is telling me I need new REAR pads yet I have 28000 miles left on the fronts. WTF?

How active are the stability / traction control systems on the car? They will be using the rear brakes to keep things in check, and so potentially produce excessive wear.

Sadly its not worth discussing at all, as with the E60 M5 the manual transmission is option for US customers only. We cannot order a manual M5.

Very seriously looking into replacing the MX5 with an early Z4 come xmas time, funds dependant.... If I'm looking at the lower end of the price range (say £7k max), am I right in thinking I should let go of my desire for the 3l and consider whatever is in best condition and spec?

Spec other than okayish alloys doesn't really bother me, but in an ideal world I'd like it in dark grey with red leather.... hmm.

Try out the electronic steering first :(

How have companies come to the conclusion that the UK prefer semi-auto trans over manual?

Gents,

What options are available for the centre console in an e46 please? I've got a phone cradle which appears to be for an iPhone 3GS - which I neither own nor want :D

I've had a quick look on RealOEM but I can't quite figure out what the difference is between them just off the text alone.

Thanks.

I really don't get why this is! I mean in the USA half the population wouldn't even know how to work a 'stick shift' car! It can't be something like the steering column for RHD problem with xDrive... can it?

That said the auto in the E60 M5 wasn't bad. Dunno about the F10 as I haven't been in one yet :(.

Whilst the vast majority of American drivers, who care little for a car other than the ability to get them places with little effort, have decided that an automatic is the only sensible way forward, the enthusiast end of the market is somewhat different. These guys want a stick shift, and nothing else will do. Whilst the %age of drivers is low, the size of the market means that this is still a significant number of cars.

The box is from an e39, and it's not the best box even in that.

In what way was the manual 'not the best box in the E39'?

I thought the SMG box in the E60 M5 was terrbile to use. Unless you were out on the open road with your foot to the floor. Sadly I can't drive like this all the time.

Manufacturers release models in geograpical areas based purely on whether they feel it will sell.

Rock On!

Pick up my 135i tomorrow morning... mmm 306hp of BMW goodness :D

interior? Specs? ££? looks nice, they really register on my interest scale actually for when i stop doing lolmiles. Its annoying they didnt put the exits either side of the car like on the 335x cars though, wouldve made it stand out more.
