So are miles and yards and my navigation system doesn't tell me I have 56,000 yards until my destination

Nobody tells you that Ben Nevis is 1470 yards high or that Mexico City lies at an elevation of 2460 yards.

Have you anything useful to offer or is your answer simply 'I don't know'?

Incidentally the E46 3 Series correctly uses feet.

It doesn't say you have 168,000 feet to your destination either...

I genuinely thought you were wanting to change from yards to meters...

Changing between yards and feet doesn't make any difference to someone with a brain that works... if you're really desperate for feet, multiplication by 3 is one of the simplest forms of mental arithmetic you can complete...

No, it uses miles, the appropriate unit for that distance...

Great, but in reality it should display feet because feet is the correct measure of elevation in imperial

(Just like you don't measure elevation in cm in metric).

Other navigation systems - including older BMW systems - correctly use feet to display elevation. Aircraft use feet to measure altitude. Feet is correct. Yards are wrong.

Amazing we've had to go back and forth about this over what, 4-5 posts now?

Well... That's hardly an appropriate comparison now... is it?

The closest relation to feet in metric would be decimeters...

In metric, you measure by meters, so yards is the closest comparison to that.

Centimeters would be inches...

Yards are not an accepted and generally used measure of elevation. It really is that simple.

Unfortunately not. The tips are marmite and not to everyone's liking. I've been after one for ages and when this popped up I had to have it.

Again it's marmite. Most of the acs stuff is. If it had twin pipe exits it would have looked a lot better. Since my car got extra acs parts at the dealer when new It would have made sense for the original buyer to get the exhaust too. Maybe like you guys he didn't like it :p
