BMW and M Power Owners

Bought a '91 318is as a second car/weekend car. It's a lot of fun :p

I am the third owner - the first had it until a couple of years ago and they kept a full service history.

133,000 Miles which isn't too shabby for nearly 25 years.

Looks like a lovely example!
How much do tidy ones like this one go for these days?

Depending on condition anywhere from £3000-6000 really. Very nice ones even more that that

Mine is somewhere in between really.

There's been some for sale recently with really high miles with not much history and a few about for under £3k this time last year, but the E30 M3 bubble is still pulling them up I suppose.

Fair enough, I've always had a soft spot for them. Enjoy it :)

Very tidy looking E30. Take care of it and enjoy. I loved my iS, they were a really well balanced car. A nice amount of power, and could easily show a 320i a thing or two.

Yeah, I have the take the connector off the battery and then pull the Ballast/Ignitor off to get at the xenon bulbs......From what I've seen on youtube xD

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, water has recently started to get into the housing, probably explains why the xenon blew, so I'll need to figure out where the water is getting in and somehow seal it up, before I put a new bulb in. fml :(

edit

Apparently its a common fault for the headlights to get condensation, usual fix is new seal and back cover, so I think I might be taking the front bumper off and take the light out have a gander....I'm no handy man either so this will be fun. fml again :(

I've got a loan 640d SE until they have fixed the damage done to mine a couple of weeks ago. Why anybody would buy an SE over the M Sport I don't know, the dashboard leather is cheap and nasty, the steering wheel horrible and the seats rubbish in comparison and lets not even start on how much better the M Sport looks...

I was wondering this price is too good to be true, but I have a friend that is always get good deals like this, so I thought, I'm gonna give him a call tomorrow...
Since you can check MOT history online, I went to have a look... guess what I've found?

Honestly, unless they take the shock off they aren't going to know. And I'm not sure I'd trust this garage, if they think £300 is an appropriate amount to pay for a 4 wheel alignment. The other issue is that you will pay £80 to someone to do it, and if the issue is still there, which i very strongly suspect it will be, and you decide to get the shocks changed, you'll have to pay another £80 to get it realigned. At £60 for a shock absorber I'd seriously recommend just getting them changed, then at least you know that for £300 or so you stand a very good chance of sorting the issue including the alignment and fitting.

Thanks, that's what I plan on doing :) I have ordered the shocks and top mounts and will be getting them fitted in the next few days. Fingers crossed it solves the issue. Might as well fit new discs and pads while its up in the air as well. If it does sort it, I owe you a drink :D

Finally got around to arranging for the shocks and top mounts to be fitted. Does £60 a side seem reasonable for labour?

Even then, great car! :p

An hour a side is reasonable' what is their hourly rate? It'll need aligned again too

Its £60 an hour so like you said, about an hour a side.

Yeah, thats the next plan. I'm going to take a trip to Elite Direct in Rainham or Wheels in Motion after its done. The garage doing the work don't have a hunter machine so rather they didn't bother!

The loan car...want mine back already
