BMW and M Power Owners

Such a shame, great drivers car, I've been fortunate to borrow my sister's partner's 56 plate 335i for a few months a while ago, and surprisingly averaging 30+MPG out of it (Not like it should be considered, considering its a high performance car)

Huh? No... they're great engines... the rest of the car will break first... maybe turbo/intercooler/pipework work required at some point... but that you'd expect on any turbo car

I was more referring to the fact that £7k buys you something with approaching 150k+ that nobody else will ever want, that's what I really meant by end of life.

Though I think the above also underplays potential issues a bit - its a fairly complex car with expensive injectors, expensive turbo/anciliaries(if repair isn't an option) and a high pressure fuel system. Fine of you're handy and comfortable coding but could get pretty expensive quickly if the wrong things broke and you needed someone else to look at it.

It's all about risk, paying a bit more for a car with the reasonably priced comprehensive warranty should work out both through ownership and on selling the car at the other side

How the heck did you manage to do that??? On long motorway runs sure but with any urban driving?? I get between 19 - 22 mpg urban!

Warranty is certainly worth having on these. I've had new turbos / wastegates in the last year - ty Mondial!

Agree though - a 335i is an absolutely fantastic bit of kit :)

I took it to work for a while which involved M4. I was getting around mid 30s I thought that was very good for a 300bhp car :D

Seen the f10 tonight - lovely car, some odd options like adaptive suspension (that I quite liked) considering the engine.

The powertrain i(and steering feel outside of sport)sn't for me but that's no surprise as i'd look for more power in an only car whereas it's just what he trundles to work in.

The trim is a sort of piano black with some sort of flake effect in it. Works well against the oyster

You sure it has adaptive suspension? Lots of people seem to mistake the drive select control buttons for adaptive suspension.

The piano black trim is standard on the SE.

Considering a 330d MSport. An opportunity to get a pre-reg one with a good spec at a good price (10k less than list price) has come up. Anyone experience of this car?

I woulsnt personally have known the difference but it's also on the option list from the vin. It also has

Pro nav, auto boot(standard?), proper phone prep (again standard?), soft close, ambient lighting (think that's what it's called), xenon with adaptive lighting and high beam asist and I believe it has active cruise too

To be fair, the broker prices for the 330d is more like £8k off list. £10k is a decent discount.

Good engine and all the car you would ever need on the road but I'd still pay a little bit more and get a 340i for the proper experience, unless you are doing hypermiles

Depends on options list. There is discounts to be had on options too, so £10k off list isn't achievable.

Depending on how the car is financed though, could make all the difference. You generally get a much better rate from the dealer on a factory order / new car. Plus you get a better residual value, if going PCP, meaning cheaper monthly payments on the new car compared to the pre-reg.

Now the school mummies will have something to show off when they park on pavements and in front of driveways
