BMW and M Power Owners

It's gonna be the FSR indeed. Congrats, you can now endure the finger breaking task that is changing that damn thing :D

Just once was enough for me. So am dreading the day it needs doing on the M3. It will happen.. Just no idea when. Old car needed it at some 85k miles.

Before I bought the slk I had no interest in convertibles whatsoever. But having spent most of the year going to work and back with the roof down (and having too pull in on the side of the a500 on more than one occasion and on the way back from the rolling road day due to the rain and being a little over zealous), I've really enjoyed it.

Helps when the car makes a nice noise though, would hate a dag dag convertible, wouldn't be the same.

Thing is though, whilst the x35 engine is great, an slk will always be far better at being a convertible - unless you have some use for the really rather tiny back seats.

Hateful job on an e46 unless you have hands of a five year old size wise!

I've got a nice scar on my hand from changing the fsr on my old e46, not had the joy of changing it yet on my 530i but expect to have to do it soon enough, it failed twice on my old 528i, on both my e36's and my e38.

Why BMW can't redesign it so it actually lasts I don't know.

Been taking note at 640D M sport's as they pass by. Not many about and they look a nice car. Is there any option for split folding seats to make them a little more practical for the odd IKEA/Flatpack trip? Admittedly I need to RTFM a bit more on this car....

Gran coupe?

Can anyone suggest a diagnostic scanner for my e46 320ci msport that will show me codes etc and clear them after i've fixed it? Emissions light popped up today :(

Do you have an Android phone or an iPhone? If android you can get a cheap bluetooth OBD2 scanner (I had this one and it worked fine on my E46 + many other cars) and use the free app "Torque" to read and clear the codes. If you have an iPhone then you'll need a more expensive Wi-Fi based reader (something about iOS that means it can't use Bluetooth devices for anything other than audio/phonecalls), but I don't have experience of those myself.

Ridiculous used prices considering the list on that car, would love one but still can't justify 30k on a car :(

Tomorrow I will be picking up my rocker cover gasket and a thermostat. Just going for it whilst I'm in there.

Brought home a 32mm thin spanner from work to deal with the fan.

I gained a handbrake light though! Topped up the fluid and it's still there so I assume it's a wear sensor?

No, the handbrake light doesn't double as wear sensor. Pad wear has it's own light.

If you have a yellow handbrake light there is a fault with the braking system.

Was the fluid actually low?

Probably just be either the actual handbrake switch, even if it's physically workijg or fluid level sensor in the cap (you did replace the cap...?)
