Scuffed an alloy...son of a!

Going around an ambulance stopped in the middle of the road to unload an elderly chap and the door caught in the wind. Just managed to dodge it but scuffed against the kerb.

What is the relelastic mpg for my car on a motorway stint? I averaged 28mpg from Leeds to London using vpower. Was above the speed limit around 85 for most of it. Normal? As I find it quite low. Would have thought 32mpg would have been normal.

Sounds about right - 85mph is pretty quick and at that point you are encountering a fair bit more wind resistance than you are at 70mph. At 70mph I'd expect 35-37mpg from the 330i auto.

Don't expect that 530d you seem to crave to offer you amazing fuel economy if you drive at that sort of speed on the Motorway either, btw.

No, I'd be expecting high 30's out a 530d at 85 on cruise, maybe around 40 without cruise.

But then drop the speed a bit, and 50 mpg is doable off cruise.

50mpg from a 530d?

Wouldn't say it's easy, but it's certainly boring enough. But is close to repeatable too.

Old pic, but I have a couple more 50mpg+ trips in my logs. It is worth noting though that the 50+ mpg trip in that picture wasn't on motorway / dual carriageway either, but on a windy, hilly A / B road drive between Aberfeldy and Arbroath.

But yeah, I doubt a E60 would get so close. Maybe, but doubtful.

Does anyone here know about cbs servicing. I'm looking at a car that's done 18k a year its oil seems to have been changed every 20-22k since new

Is this typical for a car that done motorway mileage as it seems quite high.

The long term average in my F11 530D Auto is 39mpg. That figure includes urban, Motorwat and plenty of three mile school runs from a cold engine.

Yes, it was me. I do find them irrelevant, and Fox disagreed that they were anything but.

I still stand by my belief though, despite my posting the picture of my "on a run" figures (which, in all fairness, are mostly too short to be what I'd class as "on a run").

What's the main consensus on the 1 series convertible, more to the point the 135i with the n54 engine.

I was looking at the coupe before I bought my first house, but settled for my current SLK to keep a bit in the back pocket for house refurbishment. Now it's all finished, my old mans interested in my SLK so I have the ability to get the car I wanted originally, albeit a convertible, as they've grown on me.

Cheers guys.

Bit of a strange one today. Heaters were on but no air? Neither on cold or hot. Turned off, turned back on same thing. Then just left it on changed the airflow to vents and it started working. Coolant is full? Any thoughts on what it can be. Better not be the hedgehog resistor.
