BMW and M Power Owners

It's probably the worst ever Alpina.

To add insult to injury most of them have diabolical spec, worse even than a 318i. No climate etc.

Yeah you've pointed it out everytime I've mentioned it on here. I just really like the way they look though.

If I had to have a diesel that wasn't an alpina d3. I'd opt for the 335 or 535d.

Me again :D

Thoughts? I have spoken to the chap and asked more about it, certainly sounds as described and it's ideally what I am after, if it's as good as described I think I'd be pretty happy with it. And believe me I have been itching to be motoring happy for too long! History is documented with receipts, car is an 09 reg, I know the engines are not what you guys who are die hard like... but you can't have everything.

£8000... fair value? Looking at the market place I'm inclined to think so milage wise and so on. As for the wheels, nothing a recolour won't sort :)

Thats not the smartest set up - thought it would turn off after the first time it comes to a stop without keys.

Yea, that'd work - leaving you with a completely immobilised car in the middle of a busy junction or something?!

The dashboard lights up like a christmas tree and sounds warning chimes at you the second it detects the key is more than a foot away from the steering column. What more do you need? :p

Get a 3 series!

I have avoided 123d's Vita in case more can go wrong... but I have gone in blind with that assumption I have to say! Are they any less reliable than their counterparts?

Rybo I don't really fancy one, but I've wanted a 1 Series Coupe for ages now :) This one sounds good, the pics are terrible, his title is terrible, his write up is good and what conversation I've had is promising too... But of course still keen to see if people agree 8k is actually good value.

Is a 120d really going to make you happy though? The novelty of having a BMW will wear off after a few days and you will be left with a noisy dag dag with a fairly poor spec?

It's the same engine, just with an extra turbo. It's as equally unreliable as the single turbo version and just as likely to cause you a world of pain in return for a gruff, loud noise under acceleration, a faint vibration through the cabin at idle and a power band so frustratingly narrow you'll want to beat yourself with that manual gearbox once you get sick of continually stirring it to make it go anywhere.
