BMW and M Power Owners

What do people think to the value of this assuming condition is good.

Spec looks good, only thing I am not keen on is miles and colour; I'm not sure red is for BMW's? However, with a set of the 18" split 5 spoke wheels I feel it'd look much nicer.

I thought you meant the 1 series coupe.

Really not a fan of that shape at all. Whats make you want a diesel aswell? Or has your mileage gone up?

£8k could get you a lovely E92 330i :p

I would love a 1 series coupe but I have a budget I really must adhere to...

I like that shape ideally in white I have to say, but the coupé's are far nicer.

The other option is an A3 S Line post 58 reg as much prefer the newer styling on the bumpers etc. I am torn! Diesel 1 Series because of the best power within budget really. Those pics on the advert aren't very flattering though. With the nicer wheels I think they look nice, it's just red I am not so sure about. Blue, grey, silver all seem to work OK and are inoffensive.

BMW's without at least a straight 6 make baby Jesus cry.

Potentially very unreliable 2 litre horrid 1 series diesels are just not a good choice for anyone who actually likes cars.

The 130 is a great little car, and reasonably economical for what it is

If you want a 1 series coupe, then the 125i is the right one to get I believe. BMW didn't put the 130i engine in the Coupe in 3L 262 bhp form, only in the less powerful 3L 218 bhp configuration, as the 125i. It's possible to upgrade it (it's essentially the intake manifold that is the major difference), but the engine will have enough poke as it is and is a great engine, with a silky straight six response - this is why you'd have a BMW in the first place. Unless you need mega economy for some reason, it's the way to go.

Each to their own. I can't complain about my 2.0 4 pot 525D. Coming from
V6, it's nice enough to drive, it's refined, quiet and suits my needs perfectly. The only time you can tell it's a diesel is when you're outside the car when it's ticking over.

In a.5 Series.

I just handed back a 4 series and it was awful in that. The 5 series is significantly more refined.

That said you are kidding yourself if you think the only time you can tell its diesel is outside the car, don't talk nonsense :p

Anything other than a 6cyl in the E81/87/82 1 Series is going to be a poor choice.
They're very kart-like cars, and have all sorts of niggly rattles to go with that (coming from an E46). The 6cyl engines do more than enough to make it worth putting up with the E8* build quality. The 4cyls are miserable, and will not.

I'd be very surprised if you can't find a 130i in that price range anyway. I've seen 125i E82's dipping close as well (admittedly I haven't looked recently though).

Personally I would be going the extra mile to hunt out a 125i M-Sport. They look great and have just the right amount of power and drama for the size of car.

This. Even in the F10 530D you can tell it's a diesel pretty much all of the time.

Only time I'd have a 4cyl diesel is if it's in an alpina d3 with all the options I want. Otherwise 6cyl all the time.

It's probably the worst ever Alpina.

To add insult to injury most of them have diabolical spec, worse even than a 318i. No climate etc.
