:D

So I'm potentially going to put a deposit down on a heavily specced 2009 LCI 550i with 53K miles. Car will cost $30K NZD, so about £13K when you deal with the differences in VAT etc... Anything that I should be aware of with the 4.8l V8? My brother in law has a 4.6l v8 in his X5 and hasn't suggested that there is much wrong with the engine (his has over 100K miles on it now).

This will be the biggest engined car I will have owned (not driven) so I want to ensure I am doing the right thing... in NZ fuel is around £1 a litre for 98 currently and I earn enough to deal with the servicing (I trust :D) but it is a step up from the 335i's I was looking at AND the 530is I would have settled on! The missus has convinced me as she liked the idea of a big engined 5 series!

I'm not sure whether this 550i has iPod integration or not, would it be on the spec sheet if it was added? If it doesn't, is there anyway to add, easily, iPod integration so that it works off the wheel and through the iDrive system?

E46 was being a bit optimistic about the temperature last night:

Hit a pothole at low speed scraping the front bumper and managed to knock off the temperature sensor housing, so unplugged it to stop it just dangling there lol.

Wheels, spoiler and lack of front number plate, bumper grille and spots ruin that E36 for me I'm afraid, as I prefer the stock look personally. Number plate in the window looks like it has fallen off. Also the blue strip on the bumper doesn't match the different sized black strips along the side which makes it look like it's from another car. Sorry ;)

I've never seen an e36 cry out more the the forged double spoke m than your car. Love e36's and ypurs looks a great example but even on mv2's it would look nicer.

if they made MV2's in a 11J id have a set, im not changing the alloys until i find something that's at least 10.5J

Changing the the wheel size also means it won't be as low as id like it, and im pretty sure MV2's only came in an 18", id like to keep it 17"

Thats alright, you either like it or you don't

I do actually have all the stuff to go back on spots and stuff, just haven't got round to doing it, its too cold outside to start messing about.

Yeah i don't run a front number plate at all, i dont know why it was in the window normally keep it in the glove box, Shell garage dont let you fill up unless they can see the front plate.

The front bumper has been sprayed and the paint guy didnt mask up, not a big deal its one of those things that need to be sorted and just havent got round to it

Are you on the E36 E46 Facebook group? Lots of different cars there.

Erm, im on the E36 World Facebook group, but i find there are a lot of members from Europe, not a part of any of the others.

Like to keep my feed clean some massive groups post way too much stuff and its gets annoying to sieve through
