Borderlands 3

dx 12 is not beta any more incase any one wants to know, i booted up the game and it says dx12 is default now and not beta any more, gave it a try and im getting mental fps on it :)

previously when i tried dx 12 i had mental stutters every few seconds, they are going now, running a 6600k,16 gig and a 5700 plus on a ssd :)

For me, DX12 is still showing as Beta after the update. Not that it's a problem, it's been running fine in Beta since day one! :D

yeh in the settings it still says beta, but the other night when i loaded it up i got a massive splashscreen/popup on the main menu telling me that it is not beta any more, actually switched it back to dx11 it shows less fps but is much smoother and more responsive :)

Does anyone know if it's possible to "upgrade" editions?

So, if you have the standard version, can you buy the Super Deluxe and simply enter the key into Epic to "upgrade" it? Would you then receive the extras with the SD version?

Something tells me this wouldn't work, if only because the Epic store/launcher sucks.

For anyone who has completed the main story on normal mode, did you start playing TVHM or continue on normal but selecting mayhem mode at Sanctuary? Now that there is mayhem mode I'm wondering if there's any point in TVHM if enemies scale to your level without it. Now that I've done main story I'm tempted to just farm bosses for rare loot I didn't get in playthough 1.

GMG have got this on offer for about £28 in their winter sale. I've held on this long waiting for the Steam version but I'm tempted at this price just to get the base game on Epic and wait until there is the inevitable GOTY edition on Steam in another 12 months or so.

They've been going for £20 in the MM from what I've seen. Just need the seller to activate it on AMD usually.

I just play at MM3 and run around having fun, more epics and there's plenty of bosses. Plus general fights are that bit more fun. I will try TVHM at some point but tbh I just don't feel the need just now.

Don't think you can, why would you want to though? Best stuff is dropped in game.

I have been exploring as much as possible on first playthrough and am still not finished the main game. With many games campaigns being too short nowadays, this one is substantial. Very good overall, gameplay is pretty good too.

Picked up a code of the MM a few days ago. Was planning to wait for steam, but the price is good so caved.

Was having stutters (like 1/4 second freezes) maybe one every 5-10 minutes or so which was quite annoying. Changing settings made no difference.

I tried switching to dx12, and the stutters have completely gone now. I was surprised as I've seen more bad opinions than good of dx12 in this game.

The benchmark shows about a 5 fps drop in dx12, but I cant tell the difference apart from the stutters being gone which is all that matters really.

System is [email protected], 980ti and 16GB 2400MHz ram @1440p/165Hz. I would have thought the system was badly suited to dx12 TBH.

Yes i have done a lot of tests using both dx11 and dx12, dx11 gives me the most fps and seems stable, i dont know if running in dx12 gives better looking graphics thou, i cant see a difference, unlike the last tomb raider game, that games massive boost running in dx12.

Playing through the DLC so far the weapon drops have been terrible. All the gun cabinets and red chests I've opened have been green / blue and I get the odd purple. But some weapons are still level 49. What gives? I'm playing through on TVHM and Mayhem Mode 2. I'm maxed out, and have about 12% increase on rare loot / luck drop status. Seems awful so far. Haven't picked up one new weapon. :(

What's your honest opinions about Borderlands 3 then chaps... better than previous games?

Got a code from AMD Rewards a few days ago and debated either to sell it for £20 or keep it and give it a go.

I wouldnt say better (not worse either). More of the same is how I would describe it, it depends on how much you enjoyed BL1 and 2 as to whether more of the same is enough for you.
