Borderlands

Is there anyway of cloning a saved character?

Let's say I've got a character at level 10. Can I clone the save to another copy, so I then have two copies, which I can then play independently?

Eewww! Might catch something :)

I've not tried looking for public games, so not familiar with how well it works...

i wouldn't do publicdue to teh way loot works tbh. but it's not hard finding 3 other ocukers to have a bash with.

I have been playing with two random public teams. I was apprehensive at first because the loot system isn't great, but I didn't run into any problems. Actually, they turned out to be some great people and we all shared items according to our class. You occasionally get some idiot joining if there is a spare space, but they soon get kicked and hardly take anything of value anyway.

copy the save file in the save folder and rename to the next number in sequence?

Totally agree. I just ran through the last level because I cba fighting and wanted to see what this Vault was and its contents. It was so disappointing.

Agreed, the story wasn't great. But I think people are missing the point. Borderlands isn't about the story, it is about the guns, the humour and teaming. If you want a good deep story, go back and play a game like Mass Effect. I like that they have tried to do something different, and while short, it is certainly a lot of fun.

Is there any rumblings of additional/further content? Or is the Borderlands we have nw, the Borderlands we'll always have?

There has been a lot of talk of DLC on the official forums. I think we are expecting some e.g. to raise the level cap and add content. The game finish very abruptly at the end, so I woulnt be surprised if there was.

When it's finished, is it finished? What can you do in it?

But when you finished playthru 1, I assume that character/game is done? ie: There's nothing else to do?

When you are done with all that vault malarky you get a final quest with a cash reward (why you would need money at this point I have no idea, I ended the game on close to 3 million) and then you can complete any quests you haven't done and then....well thats it.

Your choices are basicaly join other people on quests in MP or start a new play through.

Yes, you are just restarting the game from the beginning...but from the level you finished playthrough 1. Although I still have the option to go back to playthrough one which is weird....although useful because I didn't get all of the backpack upgrades! Without spoiling it though, I will say that the story (or what story there is) is left very open/unfinished at the end. Also, the gear you collect is much better during playthrough 2.

I didn't get the cash reward when I handed in the quest :(

There was one area I noticed in the game (could be more) where I didn't even explore and I think I've done all the bounty board and people missions. Something about toadstools? Am I going mad?
