Borderlands

Dropped this game after 2 hours of play. It's all the same crap go here do this bring me back that kill that etc.

Ge the car. End of. 2 hours isn't enugh mate but I too find myself putting a game 'down' if it's too difficult or feels repetative. FEAR and MW have spoilt me. I am really, really looking forward to MW2 despite the poor online action.

My systems rocks and I really cba to set my G25 up most of the time lol

All of my enemies are 4 or 5 levels above me. Takes ages to kill anything. Is this normal?

P.S. Loving this game, it's the first game I haven't wanted to put down in ages!

Don't waste your time trying to kill things higher level than you, the damage penalty is massive.

I'm pretty bored of this game now, level 24 and i don't think the game is going to show me anything new.

Crimson Lance, various types of Guardian and a couple of cool levels. Not to mention the Rakk hive, which is a cool boss if a little easy. Nope, nothing new to see after 24. :p

I mean in terms of the style of gameplay, i'm just finding it all a bit repetitive. I'll finish it i'm sure, but my enthusiasm is lacking.

You are playing 4 player co-op with friends aren't you?

If not, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

Thats a joke right?

Have you seen all of the issues people have been having trying to get the multiplayer aspect working?

Me and my one friend spent about an hour and a half trying to connect to each other on Saturday night, I really cba going through that with everyone.

Worst multiplayer configuration ever, you can't even do a direct IP connect its so crap.

That aside, I do enjoy the game.

We tried it for the first time last Friday.

I opened up the ports on my router, started a game, invited three friends in, and 2.5hrs later we called it a night without a single problem...

yep so long as your friends are smart enough to set up a static ip and open ports it works no problems.

Why on earth are static IPs a concern?

And as for ports, I obviously had opened them, and I think one of my friends had opened theirs, but I don't believe the other two had. I thought only the person hosting the session needed to open ports?

Because you need an IP to forward the ports to on your router.

otherwise next time your pc starts it will get a new ip from the router and the ports wont be forwarded to it any more.

Oh I see... I thought you were referring to a static ISP/internet IP address.

Yes, with any port forwarding you'll have that battle, but in my case, I can just tell the router to always assign the same IP address via a simple option.

But again, I thought only the host needed to worry about this. I'm sure 2 out of the three people invited onto my game/PC didn't bother doing anything about port forwarding?!

I have a qwick qestion i got borderlands today, i got to about level 14 then i joined a game some level 50 dude was in there. I now have 150 inventory space, how did this happen.

Did he do something to me? Should i feel violated? is there any way to get my orignal bag space back.

he hacked his inventory space, there's complaints on the official forums about the sharing of the ini files. here's a quote from the email i sent myself (from someone on the forums):

Just go into Willowgame.ini:

InventorySlotMax_Misc=12

That value should be increased if it is in game for you. I'm VERY surprised the client's ini files are dictating server variables. That's shocking.

I actually increased it to 30 first before I found out you could increase to 50 by finding claptraps. So I put it back on 12...Above all else, I'd rather earn privileges instead of tweaking them in.
