Borderlands

The whole 'chance of elemental effect' annoys me somewhat.

Something i found out fairly early on, Revolvers have an insanely high chance of inflicting the elemental atack, sniper rifle isn't too bad for it, the automatic weapons are utterly worthless, even with Lilliths upgrade. Alpha Skags go down so easily if you blast them with an Incendiary Revolver, sets them on fire almost all the time.

My gold Detonating Sniper Rifle that i got fairly early on in PT1 is a beast, bout 300 base damage and explodes on almost every shot, great for some enemies when it inflicts 2000+ damage.

I used my purple Liquid Wrath for all of PT1, 270 damage, x3 explosion, 2.7 rate of fire and a 5 shot clip.

PT2 saw it quickly usurped though, my current baby dishing out 350, x4 explosion, 2.4 fire rate and a 7 shot clip. :D

Mines somewhere in the middle. But i've mostly been using a regular non-elemental Sniper since i seem to keep finding stronger and stronger ones. I've got 1 that does 800 base damage but the req is a couple of levels too high atm (think it was 46) and using 1 with 500 base damage. Coupled with the fact Explosive Sniper Rifles do lots of damage but never seem to frigging critical, this Sniper does even more thanks to my 90% classmod.

It just annoys me how long PT1 takes before you get to the challenging PT2. For the most part my Soldier was a run n gunner with a very accurate burst LMG for headshots and a spray n pray rapid fire LMG for everything else. Coupled with an ammo regen classmod half of PT1 needed no real strategy. I've still got Brick and Lillith to get through it.

I took my time with PT1, but am avoiding the more annoying quests in PT2 (Dahl Headlands, urg!).

Love my 3 shot burst LMG, as it has the '2 more bullets make all the difference' trait, 5 shot bursts + metal storm + scoped shooting = head crits galore!

My current rotation is:

Above LMG
Sledge's Shottie for 2nd Winds
Hellfire SMG should I have issues with ammo
Above Sniper

Great game and just finished the Vault level. Any higher enemies or is this it?
Is the Dr Ned DLC worth buying? I have a level 35 Mord.

It's been a while since I enjoyed a game so much. Old Haven was one of the best levels with some great drops.

k i know tis late (just got back) but i got a question. Me and a friend played borderland together and completed it and playthrough 2, we noticed after killing the boss the second time and playing on (to hand in the key) the enemies were all level 50 or 51. Now the question is if we install the game again loaded up our save and play the zombie addon what level would the enemies be? Would they also be 50/51? I dont want to play the addon via playthrough 1 because it be way too easy. Just before beating the boss in playthrough 2 we went back to playthrough 1 to get the last backpack upgrade and it was just so easy, even though there was 2 of us i did it myself all the baddies died in milli seconds (in earls junkyard).

,thxs

*sorry for any errors, i am a little tired :(

I got quickly bored with this in SP, but Multiplayer is a whole host of fun, even with 2 people. I should imagine 4 players with mates is even better.

My main "gripe" is just the lack of variation. There should be armour as well as sheilds, IMO, if only to make your character look a bit different - the lack of "set" items is a big downer, I used to love trading/searching to complete your set items.

The Unique guns need to be more....Unique in appearance. They should stand out from the rest. There should be more of them too.

Level cap needs to be harder to hit, rather than 2 playthroughs.

Lastly, needs to be more variation in builds - instead of Brick just having "Beserk" as his special power, why not have 2 or 3 special powers to chose from? "Invunerability" at the top of the Tank tree, for example, and "Dual Wield Rocket Launchers" at the top of his DPS tree, or something (both time activated, as they are now).

All the above are tried&tested Diablo perks, but it'd just give that bit more depth and enjoyment.

^^Spent quite a bit of time the other day trying to connect to multiplayer but no joy. Downloaded the patch but still no go. I hope you get more success than I managed..:)

hmm dont know if it was because we were lvl 50 and there was 2 of us but me and a friend played the dlc at pt 2.5 (enemies were 50/51) but it was so easy that we had to take it in turn to solo a section. The most difficult part was getting the claptrap repair kit (and that only took a min to figure how to get to it). Probly the biggest factor was even if i did get downed theres always a zombies close by that i can 2 shot to get second wind.

Having said that, the dialogue was funny as hell though with the claptraps and ned, and made up for the less then challenging gameplay.

is it possible to change the pt from 1 to 2 or 2.5 without playing. I created a new character and played with a friend with him as a host (it was pt 2.5) for a while. Cut a long story short i'm lvl 50 and because it's pt 1 I 1 shot kill anything which kinda makes it boring.

kidkhaos - do the core quests to get though to the later stages quickly.

Me and a mate started Playthrough 2 as level 42 each, and it was rediculously easy. We did the core quests to get to a level which was more appropriate.

Incidentally, when are we going to get a "balance" patch for this? I'm sick of all the best weapons being pistols, and in some cases, SMG's. I'm currently "Brick" with my mate being "Mordecai" and he's pistol spec. I'm explosive/rocketlauncher spec, but I still do WAY more damage with pistols than any shotgun/launcher I've come across.

Hell, my mate picked up an orange pistol with 4x elemental about level 25, and has only just replaced it at level 40ish with an even better pistol. I've switched to pistols now too, damage is insane.
